The harbour at Storms End was small but thriving. The seas were fierce in these waters and only the most sturdy ships and best sailors dared navigate the unpredictable tides. For those who did however, serious profits were there to be made. The smal but efficent dockyards were a bustle with traders, merchants, goldhands and sailors going about their business.

A fleet of 10 ironborn vessels sailed slowly into the Bay. There was a mild panic at the docks but the parlay flag on the lead vessel was plain and no overt aggressive moves were made. The lead ship was a peculiar design and seemed to sail on two small keels above the waterline. A small pilot boat sailed out and the harbour master nervously asked their reasons for coming. A large glowering man with a black beard loomed over the rail and stared angrily at the man but a hand was placed on his shoulder "Easy, Quellon". He looked cooly at the man and said "We are here for the council, as called by Callen. Were you not expecting us?" he said calmly. The captain gulped and said "Well, not will so many men, Ser". "Dangerous times, captain. Dangerous times. May we dock?" he said softly, narrowing his eyes at the man. The man nodded uncertainly and shortly afterwards, Balor and his men docked at the harbour and were escorted under heavy guard towards Storms End keep above them.

i]The Moon Maid[/i] arrives in the harbor late one evening, a white, high-masted swan ship. It sails past the reavers' ships and the Redwyne galleys, and docks at port. Lord Tommen Redfort disembarks with his men and immediately rides for the castle, hoping to find Lord Arryn.

ooc: This happens a week or so before the War Council in KL.
Lord Balor and his men board their vessels and prepare to sail home. A flustered looking messenger wearing Baratheon colours runs down to the harbour, flags down a small patrol boat and sails up to Lord Balor's flagship waving a parchment. He is let aboard and Lord Balor quickly reads it. Looking up with his pale eyes he stares coldly at the servant. "Tell Callen I will be there" he says simply, before bundling the retainer back in the boat. Turning to Lord Drumm's ship he shouts"Quellon! Take my boys home! I have a short trip to King's Landing to make first." Lord Drumm frowns and nods. Balor steers his ship northwards as the rest stream south and west round the arm of Dorne and home to Pyke.

"I know King's Landing" said Amdle to Balor. "I will come with you. Would you like to accompany us Bella? Your axe might be useful."

Balor shrugs "I would have thought you'd be itching to go on your honeymoon but so be it".

Amdle supressed the grin that arose at the thought of the honeymoon. "It will be a chance to make sure we get the grain we need for our bread."

//////////////
The arrival at the harbour of Storm's End was one of the most shocking sights of Rhodri's life. The castle had been his home for many years, longer, far longer, than the Eyrie, and it was where his first son had been born. But the aftermath of the earthquakes had been truly terrible on the ancient fortress. It has been built to withstand the great storms of Shipbreaker's Bay, but it could not withstand the crumbling earth.
Massive portions of the cliff beneath the great famed curtain walls collapsed entirely, and the smooth stone of the wall was cracked and fissured, parts of it committed to the sea. The Drum Tower, which stood proud so tall you could see leagues and leagues out over the sea, now sat tilted, like a drunken giant.
Rhodri was stunned as they stepped off the boat and climbed the trail, disrupted in several places, and gazed upon the ruined great castle.

OOC: I have not invented the damage to Storm's End. It was relayed to me by the admin staff.

Aranya stared silently from Rhodri's side as they led their horses up the trail. She had visited Storm's End twice, the last time with Selwyn. To see a place she linked with loving memories...in this condition...it hit hard.
"We have to rescue whoever is trapped or wounded inside. Who is the castellan here, now that Lord Valwert is gone?"

"Let's hope the Bolling is still there." Aranya took in the destruction around them - the fallen trees, broken little cottages, even a few shells where fires had destroyed the homes.
"Where is the crater?" she asked quietly.

"Who knows? But first we must see to the safety of the survivors here."

Aranya nodded. The harbor was all but ruined, the some of the quays broken and perhaps many of its ships sunk. They rode towards the castle, stopping every now and then to see what they could do to the castlefolk in the town. Aranya carefully pulled some people out of their shelters of brick and block; the walls looked weakened and could easily topple in the aftershocks.

An old woman in smoked glasses came into the port a few weeks later. She shook her head at the devastation and sold charms to find lost loved ones when requested. Soon, though, she boarded a Free Cities ship and sailed away.
