Cole finally arrives at the site for Gossamer Keep. He finds the head foreman, and asks him to gather the men working on the keep. When they have all arrived, Cole tries to put on a loud and commanding voice.
"Thank you, good people, for coming to construct this for your new lord. Lord Seth is a kind man and is grateful for the work you are doing. He wishes to give each able-bodied man who works on his estate a golden dragon for their service..." Cole lets that sink in before continuing, "per week."
The workforce as a whole joined for a communal gasp, such a huge payment was unheard of. When they went back to work there was an incredible vigour and stamina in them, so delighted where they with the prospect of all the gold.
Cole then rode down to the nearby villages, and had posters made up which he nailed up at public places, they offered an opportunity to work in various positions for Lord Seth; steward, cook, stablehands, servants, etc.
Then Cole went to find an inn he could stay in until temporary lodgings could be constructed nearer to the keep.

ooc: Are you really constructing a new keep? That'll take (game) years! Unless it's very modest in which case it may only take a year P.S. Is Barret funding this, because they weren't cheap either.

OOC: Dunno, ask Seth. Is this information still applicable?

ooc: I'll have to hold my hand up and say I have no idea where you got that from. Having said that it seems logical and not too far from my thinking on matters. And to make something clear, your income and the number of men you can field isn't a reflection on the size of the castle, it's more a reflection that if you have a gigantic castle, it's because you're Lord Paramount of your region or something and thus your lands are huge enough to support (and pay for!) a castle that size

OOC: Barret isn't writing a blank check, but yes he is funding a modestly sized keep.

ooc: I'd say medium-sized keep in that case? 2 years to construct fully

Cole informs the foreman that he'll be gone to Highgarden for a few days, and to send word if he's needed.

OOC: The one gold a week will come from Seth's winnings at the Archery Tourney. The Keep will be funded by Barret, lovingly, I hope.

Clayton arrives at the building site, and looks at the keep in progress. "So, this is what is to be Gossamer Hall. A modestly sized keep, perhaps worth it. I wonder where this Lord Seth is?" Clayton said, looking around for the man he had heard about, and was eager to meet.

Cole approaches the strange man looking around the construction site. He smiles welcomingly. "Hail ser, I am Ser Cole Tyrell, castellan of em... what will eventually be Lord Seth's home. Can I help you?"

"Yes, I am Clayton Braska. I am a fairly successful sailor and trader, and I heard Lord Seth was a newly raised lord. I wondered if he was in need of someone who could help him get introduced to trade, and help him build up a fortune." Clayton said, looking at Cole. "I have served on several ships in westeros and the Free Cities, I have traded in many large ports around the world, and I even served as a sell sword across the narrow sea for a few years." He looked around the building site, and returned his gaze to Cole.

Cole nods and grins. "I'm sure his lordship will be most pleased to hear of such an offer, however he is currently away, I have had word he is in King's Landing at the moment. You are welcome to stay in the temporary lodgings that have been constructed until his return if you wish." Cole looks eager to have some companionship.

"That sounds great, my fine ser. I would be happy to stay at the temporary lodgings." Clayton said, smiling. "Now, I love to talk architecture and building. How big will this keep be, and what will it look like?" Clayton asked, looking at the partly built structure.
