Aranya then notices Prince Andry, - at least, it could only be Prince Andry - a pretty girl in Tyrell green, and another man beside Callen. She nods to them.

King Callen's eastmost scouts see a lone knight riding the Rose Road. He wears plain grey plate and bears a red-painted spear, with a peace banner wrapped around it.

Aranya gazed at him, and then nudged Selwyn hard. "Fuck, not now."

"What can we do? Nothing, now," Selwyn says.

"I have to stop Callen from killing him," Aranya moaned. "And you have to defend him."

Speaking with a hushed voice, "If Callen kills a man who approaches him, alone, with a banner of peace, he is not the King we'd thought he be, and would not have the honor he claims to have."

"True," Aranya glanced back at Callen. In the years she had known him, he had always dealt honorably with his foes; he had even forgiven Nealon Spear, although admittedly, Syrio hadn't given him much of a choice. "What is your brother doing here anyway? Wasn't he defending King's Landing?" Her eyes narrowed. "If the city has fallen, Aedon will have the whole realm against him."

"That I cannot answer. Last I knew he was to remain amongst the defenders," Selwyn says. "Aedon has the Riverlands, though, and Lord Baldwin is undeclared. It would be like him to choose the winner."

Aranya snorted, glanced at the other nobles, and controlled herself. "Well, we'll see what happens."

Callen watched as the rider came closer and closer. He would speak to Aranya and Selwyn later, perhaps this rider brought important news from King's Landing. He motioned his retinue forward. Bethany, Tallahar and Rindwynd Tyrell of the Reach, Aranya, Selwyn and Hodrick of the Vale, and William Storm, a knight from Granview from the Stormlands. He raised his hand in greet, "hail rider! What news do you bring us?"

"I bring news of ghosts and death, I bring news of war and famine, I bring news of fire and fury," the voice echoes from the helm. The rider lifts his visor. While Callen and Rhodri Royce never truly knew each other, Callen had seen him before and recognized his face, though it was a little more worn for the years. Rhodri's face looked proud but cold, dead but for a little flicker in his eyes.

Callen's eyes flashed, like churning waves of the sea in the middle of a storm. "You..." Callen said darkly. "Seize him," he said with the wave of a hand. Several men grabbed at Rhodri and dragged him off his horse and threw him to his knees.

Rhodri does not fight them, in fact he dismounts and drops his spear.

Aranya glanced at Selwyn. Her face was cold, but he could see the worry in her eyes.

Callen dismounted, walked over to a soldier and motioned for the man's axe. As he grasped it he paused, studying the steel. "Rhodri Oathbreaker," he said, without even looking over, "I hear you've been sleeping my bed in the tower of Storm's End...was it comfortable?"
