Aranya wheeled and stared when she saw what Callen had done to Rhodri. "That," she snarled. "Was uncalled for, Callen."

Selwyn pulls Aranya back. "Rhodri will not complain. So do not for him."

"You realize that he will never be the feared Redspear again, after this?" Aranya saw nothing worse than losing one's martial skill. But she held her tongue after that; Callen, after all, was her king.
"Well, now that this little party is done, there's work to do. We have to go and rescue the others in King's Landing," she said. "I am not leaving my sister Elane to die at Aedon's hand."

Callen gave her an odd look, "No, it's alright Selwyn, I owe Aranya an explanation." He sighed, "A long off relative of mine, his name was Stannis Baratheon, said that no good deed erases the bad. A man must pay for the bad, and so Rhodri did. Rhodri Royce is dead to me now." And rather awkwardly Callen continued, "Thank you Aranya, for everything. For saving me five years ago when I took that jump from the Red Keep, for guarding me, for loving me. Now, if you'll excuse me Aranya Royce, I'm going to rest and think over what has happened today before we start counsel."

"I am glad I saved you, Callen," Aranya said, after listening to his explanation. "You are what a king should be, and I am at peace with my conscience for betraying my family. It was worth it."

"Let us not speak of betraying kin, not now. I will speak with Rhodri when he awakens and see what he would have me do. I think I owe him that, for this moment," Selwyn says.

Aranya saw that Callen's odd maester had cleaned the wounds and sewn it up. "We should move him to a bed, and do it carefully," she said. "Here - you take him under the arms and I'll take his legs." They lifted Rhodri easily and took him into a nearby tent, and laid him gently on the bed. "I'll wait outside, and give you two some privacy," Aranya said, with the most unnatural tact. "If the man who owns this tent returns, I'll send him somewhere else."

After conversing inside, Selwyn emerges. "Lord Rhodri has three of his knights awaiting word up the road -- Giles Grandison, Felwick Gower and Cerdric Hasty. They must know of this news. I will ride after this council and inform them of what took place. Rhodri would have Ser Felwick join him at the Eyrie as his Master-at-Arms, and Grandison is sure to want to swear to King Callen, as his father has. Lord Hasty may be divided. He is a minor noble in the Stormlands, and may fear Dondarrion's power there."
"It may be best to send him to take word to Storm's End. It would not test his loyalty to either side."

"Dondarrion's army is being slaughtered in King's Landing," Aranya said. "Lord Hasty has only Callen and Aedon to fear now, and we'll make sure he fears Callen more."

When the appointed hour for King Callen's council comes, Lord Rhodri, with his stump of an arm heavily bandaged, is in attendance.

Aranya and Selwyn walk in after Rhodri. "Callen is probably with his brother," Aranya said as they sat down. "I'm pretty sure that one with the black hair and blue eyes was his brother."

"Lord Rindwynd, it is no surprise to see you in King Callen's company. I am doing well. There is a sickness that has been lifted from me," Rhodri says.

"Where is your brother, Lord Tallahar?" Aranya asks.

OOC: I'm shifting this over to the Ivy Inn. Callen has moved his forces there.
