Before Callen left for the south he stopped at Flint's Finer for a meeting. Callen dismounted in Lord Flint's courtyard and made for the small bailey, which was larger than most castles in the north, but small by southron standards.

Lord Hunter Flint rushed out to greet Callen. "Your Majesty! I was not informed you were coming. How can I be of service? I don't suppose you're here to tell me you've replaced Lord Bolton as Regent of the North?" he smiled

Callen shook his head. "No, but I have loyal men watching him, men of the north. You included, if you will. Please report anything and everything to me." Callen made for the Bailey with Lord Flint walking by his side. "My reason for coming here is not to discuss Lord Bolton." Callen paused and then looked Lord Flint in the eye. "Your son, the younger one, he is a knight is he not? It's uncommon to see one besides the Manderly's and their household in the North."

Lord Flint looks puzzled "No, my liege. Both Lertner & Kaleb are fine warriors but not ordained in the Seven. We hold to the Old Gods here."

Callen smiled, "And I will not ask you to let them go. However...I was wondering if Letner might be interested in joining the Kingsguard. You have heard about what happened to poor Ser Roland I assume?"

Lord Flint looks taken aback a moment then nods, "I am sure he would, My king. Let me fetch him."
Lertner has approached an is standing behind his father. When he hears the words of the king he walks forward and kneels to the King, "I would be honored my liege."

"You would have to take knightly vows. But there is nothing in them that one would find objectional. If you wish it you may take them in the godswood as well as a sept."

Callen grinned. "You honour both me and your house. I do believe you're the first in House Flint's history to take the white."

"I am you king. And I am Infinitely grateful." Lertner tries to keep a solemn face but a smile can be seen at the corners of his mouth.

Lertner frowns a little. "I guess this means I'll be heading back with you to Kings Landing and the Great Sept to be ordained? I shall say my goodbyes to my Lord father and mother. By your leave, your Majesty" he says as he scurries off to pack and ready his things.
