The night after the death of the legendary commander Sylas Caron, a great vigil surrounded great man's body. Lord Barret Tyrell stood at the forefront, despite never having spoken to him and only having seen the man die. He was a great admirer of the Songlord, and despite the fact that Barret could not very well carry a tune he began to sing a soft and melancholy song...a song for the mourning that Sylas had written three decades prior.

Barret watched the Stormbird, the new Lord Gideon Caron, watch his father's body-- eyes full of tears. He went over to the man and after an informal introduction, stood by both father and son, in admiration and respect of the former, and silent sympathetic support of the latter. Barret had just recently lost his father as well, and so this vigil was particularly meaningful.

Ser Giles Grandison and Ser Edrick Dondarrion -- both Stormlanders, and both of whom rode as squires in the Songlord's army in the rebellion, years ago -- attend with solemn looks on their faces. Edrick was Rhodri's squire in those years and knew how well the Redspear loved the Songlord, and revered him as a father figure after Alyn Royce had died.
They both knew that Rhodri would have wished to have been there at the Songlord's side in the battle, and would have wished to have been here now to pay his respects.
