[The Smith]

"I did not know their names, but they are welcome here also." He motions for them to sit as he passes the mushrooms. "Every so cautious around the dangerous crannogmen, I understand."

"This is Fallon and Perra," Aranya motioned for them to eat. The falcon picked at the fish.

"How goes the battle at Moat Cailin?" Aranya asked. "I have a good feeling about it. Although if Sands was captured there..." her fist clenched on the table.

[The Smith]

"It is over. Some crannogmen who Sands had recruited, opened the gates for the King. We knew which side was destined to win." Tech frowned, "Sands was killed there, by a black snapping turtle."

"That's not what you said before," Aranya looked at him challengingly. "You said he is here in the Neck. Moat Cailin is at the edge."

[The Smith]

Sighing he shook his head, "When you start listening to me Aranya I will start talking again. What did I say, exactly?"

"First you said Sands does not wish to speak with me, I think. If I told you what I would say and then you will tell him. Apparently it would be safer for me. Then when I mentioned Moat Cailin you said, "you will not find him there, you will find him here." Then you asked what I'd do if Sands walked out and surrendered to me."

She looked at him. "I don't think Lance Sands died at Moat Cailin. I think that was yet another decoy."

[The Smith]

"You do not... perhaps you are right. I did you see you stabbing Sands with a knife. Altough I also saw you hang a man." Tech looked down at his soup.

Aranya went rigid. "He was my husband. And the hanging you saw...you misunderstood. It was nothing like that. It was how he liked to be bedded once in a while." She said this with no embarrassment, only pain.

OOC: Um, I think the hanging vision does foretell Selwyn's death, not just his sexual proclivities...but maybe that's just me.

"The dream you have, they do not show you the truth of things. They are the relections of things on murky water." Tech frowned and cocked his head, "Are you blameless in his death?"

"No," Aranya said harshly. "I knew that if we brought more than five up there, they would die. I told them, but they wouldn't listen. Selwyn wouldn't listen. He insisted on accompanying me, and I selfishly let him. Those clansmen, those shamans...it was horrible. He kept putting himself in danger. And when the shaman with the spear came..." she abruptly fell silent, her mouth tightening.

[The Smith]

Tech frown grows lighter and he nods, "That took longer then I thought possible. Aranya, the man you seek will not be at Greywater Watch for two or three months, will you may stay with me until then. I will escort you there."

"I am amazed that you have the dreams. With your anger and surety it does not make for a good match. You must temper these reactions. Otherwise the visions will always show you what you want, and not what is." He puts a sympathetic hand on her shoulder.

Aranya looked at him. "Yes, I will wait with you. As for my visions...I know I lack skill. Much skill." She hesitated. "Will you show me how?"

"I can, but I do not know if you can learn. We are molded into shape as children, and that vessel rarely changes with out breaking." Tech shrugs.

"I can change my shape," Aranya said fiercely. "I got married, for gods' sake! I stayed loyal to one man all through it! If you had known me before that, you would not have thought it possible. I can change, I promise you."
