The Seven Kingdoms are guarded from the wild North by an ice wall, 300 miles long and over 700 feet high. It extends from the Frostfang Mountains in the west to the Bay of Seals in the east. According to Westerosi legend, it was built after the period known as The Long Night by the mythical Brandon the Builder over 8,000 years. Since then it has defended the realm from wildlings and other, more ancient threats.
The Wall is guarded by the Sworn Brotherhood of the Night's Watch.

As her tent was being set up, Elane looked for Lilith, only to be told that the Widow was exhausted and sleeping. Elane left her to sleep, and found her four ladies.
"Well, did the Grey Lady and that knight have something going on?" Lady Alla asked immediately.
"I don't admire her taste," Lady Janna said loftily. "But the Redroyce...oh yes..."
"That's enough," Elane said sharply, as the girls broke out in laughter. "I didn't bring you here to gossip and make eyes at the lords and knights. If you don't take this more seriously, I'll take Ser Garrett's advice and send the lot of you back home."
That silenced them quickly enough. "There isn't much work now, so I'm going to take you round the tents to see what we're doing for the sick and elderly. And then I'll begin to teach you the basics of nursing and healing." They nodded and followed her through the tents, meek and demure as lambs.

OOC: I think all further field hospital stuff will just be posted in 'The Wall' folder instead of this thread.
