ooc: happy to have the company...Baldwin's off so I'll be writing a scenario, think I'll just let it sit for a while to get the details worked out in my head. (And FYI, I think I'll be Lilith Royce, Lady Bettley, never been much for name changing!)

OOC: Think of Maester Aeron as a weather beaten, shabby man in old maester robes. In my head he looks like Joseph Fiennes

Alone finally in Lilith's tent, Lilith and Piers shared their passion swiftly, emotion and lust sweeping over them both, heightening every touch.
"I assume you leave tonight, my beloved," said Lilith afterwards. "The Band too will travel south but we cannot travel as fast as you." She shook her head. "Wars bring much work for us both."

For awhile Piers did not answer her, just watched her lying there. His face was covered by a large, satisfied smile, "Aye. I have to leave soon. My other family awaits."
"Yesterday we became a true family. Today we were wed, turning into a husband and wife. What turn do you think awaits us tomorrow?" Piers tried to commit every detail of her to memory as they talked.

Aeron sat in the next tent, pouring over books that the maester here in Winterfell had lent him. Petra sat on the cot (Aeron had brought her there when he had seen Lilith and Piers going to their tent) fiddling with one her little toys Aeron had made for her. He was deeply engrossed with the stories of Bale the Bard, King-beyond-the-Wall, when he heard the results of Lilith and Piers passion. Petra looked up, her face full of fear and anxiety after hearing her mom scream, so Aeron scooped her off the edge of the cot and set her on the ground. "Let's take a walk shall we?" Aeron asked, "Let's go see if we can spot the Wall from the gatehouse." She nodded, still a little fearful. As they walked towards the steps leading up to the walls of Winterfell (Petra running ahead after meeting with some of her new friends she had made here in the past few days) Aeron thought on his vows as a maester, he had never broken them for the love of a woman unless you count that girl from the Quill and Tankard, but that was when I was a novice, so technically I wasn't breaking any vows thought Aeron, smiling ruefully. He saddened at the thought of never being able to have children. At hearing Petra's laughter though he came back to himself. She was as much of a daughter as any man could hope for, and if not a daughter at least a younger sister. When he got near enough to hear what she was saying he heard her calling "Aeron! Aeron look!" She was pointing into the air, and when Aeron looked up he spotted tufts of snow slowly drifting down, and through the night air he spotted a white raven flying towards Winterfell.

Lilith touched Piers face gently. She was still blinking at swiftness with which she had turned from 'remarkable woman' to very happily married. His joy filled her with elation, she felt as if she was flying.
'I don't know what the future will bring, my love, but I admit to an old-fashioned longing to be a traditional family and actually live at least some of the time under the same roof. But that cannot yet be, we both have too much to do.' She sighed softly. Then she grinned broadly. 'I suspect you don't think you're marrying a conformable wife, this is probably very very wise.'
She kissed him, hoarding the feel of him for the lonely months ahead.

"Don't say such things about yourself. You are very comfortable. Why just last night, I thought you far more soft then the three pillows I was provided." Piers chuckled.
"I think you have bested me at every step. I am your humble servant madame." Rising Piers grabbed up his clothes and began to dress, "At least when I am not serving my other master." He winked at her.

A frisson of fear ran through her at Piers's mention of his other loyalties. Twas a flaw that created lightening. But she had always known his duty so she kissed him once again and helped him pull on his gear, taking the opportunity to run her hand once more down his chest.
She in turn dressed, putting on one of the silks from his hoard. He helped her with her laces and they moved out into the world. Aeron came running towards them.
"A raven has come for you, Lord Bettley."

"A raven." He turns and eyes the too handsome maester, "What is it?" Piers holds out his hand for the message.

Aeron shook his head, "not here, perhaps it's best we get Lord Stark." He paused for a moment, "it was a white Raven."

Grabbing onto Lilith's hand he smiles darkly at the maester, "I think we will go and find him then. After you Aeron."
They head out to find Lord Stark.

Piers went to gather his troop and Lilith, Petra and Xavier went to the end of the road to see them off, Lilith and Petra with flowers and handkerchiefs in hand.
Piers appeared down the road, looking as one with his horse, his natural grace shone out. Lilith found herself almost fighting tears. Petra, thank heavens, was babbling cheerfully. "Nice horse, Uncle X, what's his name? Where was he bred?"

Piers dismounted, hugged and kissed Lilith and Petra goodbye, slapped Xavier on the back and told him he'd slit his throat if anything happened to his women, then resaddled and rode off South. Lilith felt like running down the road after him, begging him to take her with him but restrained herself just barely.
This way of life was going to have to come to an end one day and she needed to prepare the camp for it. She called in Aeron for a discussion. "I have been thinking of shifting more responsibility to your shoulders," she said. "As second healer, I was wondering what else you would like to do around the camp."

Aeron shrugged, "whatever is needed, I've already been training the new arrivals. And I've been doing the letter writing and managing finances." He smiled, "I've also been tutouring the camp children. Petra's work with numbers is coming along nicely."
