Once the party had reached the Gates of the Moon, Roland said to Aranya. "I think it is safe from here. Do you agree? I feel I should return to the Knight of the Bloody Gate and resume my duties there."

"Thank you for helping me bring it thus far, Roland. You can return to the Bloody Gate if you wish - I can see you're hungering after that clankilling glory." She winked. "Be nice, now. I often fought clan battles for the Black Ears or Milk Snakes against other clans. And sometimes against Royce soldiers as well, but that's between you and me."
"Go on, then, and ride Dusk to battle as often as the Little Corbray lets you." Aranya called Ser Casset "the Little Corbray", for Ser Raymund Corbray, a ferocious warrior, had been the Knight of the Gate in her youth, and all Corbrays seemed puny and weak compared to him.

"If you're sure it is safe, Aranya, then I will take my leave." said Roland. "This event has... Well, I don't know how to understand it. I hope we'll have some opportunity to discuss it."

"We will," Aranya promised. "I expect that I will see you very soon."

Roland smiled at his cousin, and nodded. "Farewell then, you know where to find me." Roland wheeled Dusk around, and signaled to the others from the Bloody Gate that it was time to ride west.

Aranya waved him off, and then she and her company mounted the mules and transported the globe and ore up to the Eyrie.

Ser Galywn Fell, sword sword to Lord Rhodri Arryn, descends to the Gates of the Moon in order to work with young Prince Avery Baratheon, Rhodri's first squire. Fell is a preeminent horseman, and he spends a great part of the day teaching Avery how to tend to steeds. Once Avery knows how to keep a horse, he will begin to teach him the secrets of riding one in combat.

Lord Wayman invites him into the Lord's Solar. Wayman Royce is not, in fact, close kin to the Royces of Runestone; the two lines divided near 250 years before, when Bronze Yohn Royce's cousin Nestor was made Lord of the Gates of the Moon. However, the Royces of the Gate are amongst the Vale's most powerful banner houses, and their shared lineage only amplifies their importance.
Wayman Royce is a tall man with a faintly receding hairline and soldier's shoulders. He is near thirty and trim. His manner is slightly curt but he is known not only as a warrior but more importantly as an excellent steward.
"Welcome, Lord Bolton. It is an honor to be joined by the Warden of the North."

Bolton followed closely by his man Unghar, sits and stares balefully at the Royce, "I would have preffered Arryn."
Unghar chuckles.

"The Lord Arynn is a few thousand leagues away. I will have to do," Wayman replies. His tone, as it always does, remains businesslike.

Bolton stares at the other man like he is a insect that he wishes to crush, but first he wants to pluck its legs.
Unghar speaks, "Did you hear the dreadful news of Lord Bolton's wife?"
