Doria blinked. "We aren't, no, but Jon goes riding all the time. The sound of horses is not all that uncommon in the Vale."

"Yes, of course not. I just thought how nice it would be to have guests bringing some news. Since the snow has coverd the Vale few have been traveling."

Doria smiled and shrugged. "Well, I get ravens from Emelia all the time, but usually it's all politics and my position in the web."

"Hm, well at least you have a position in the web." she smiled "I've been here for mostly all my life not doing much and sometimes I feel like a........... ah, I'm sorry. I really should keep my mouth shut sometimes." Trying to change the subject Alayne says: "Shall we walk a bit, the wind is getting unpleasant."

Doria stood and took Alayne's hand, beginning to lead Alayne for the walk. "I see. I was always running around doing stuff back home. Emelia always had need of something to be done, some messenger to some lord, perhaps a feast where I could take her seat, or perhaps she wanted me to recruit her next bed-maid." She smiled at the last, watching Alayne's face for her reaction.

Alayne slightly blushed but didn't pull away from Doria's touch.
"It must have been a bit more exciting then here in Runestone. But I'm sure Lord Jon loves you and his little daugther dearly."

Doria smiled at Alayne. "As much as he can. Of course, his love does not extend to keeping his marriage vows," she said, a bit tartly. "But I was warned about that in advance."

"Ahh well, I don't know how much I should tell you, since he is you Lord Husband, but let's say Jon always liked to enjoy himself without giving to many thoughts to possible consequences. But some women might find more pleasure in a husband who is more often gone then present." she gave Doria a side glance.

Doria chuckled. "Not me," she responded. "I really don't enjoy playing games behind my husband's back. Nor have I found particularly any man interesting enough -to- be fooling around with."

"I see. I hope for you that Jon will appreciate it in time."
They continued there walk through the snow-covered Godswood.
