"Builders?" Ser Casset looked baffled.
"Isn't that the type who maintain the Wall?" Harry asked, frowning. When the tormented black brother nodded weakly, Harry said, "So - this Sands is the First Ranger?" Another nod. "But he brought builders." Weak nod.
"Where are the rangers, then?" Ser Harry could guess that these would be more dangerous.

"Then you're already dead," Ser Harry said with satisfaction. "Our scouting parties will hunt you down like rabbits, and the stupid Vale Watch will do the same. Those miserable watchmen have stations all over the Mountains. Leaving the rangers tied up in the cellar, he left with Ser Casset, leaving a handful of their men to guard the broken prisoners.
Ser Harry and Ser Casset sent the information they had gained to Lord Grafton. Tommen compiled everything into one long letter and sent it by raven to Lord Rhodri.

A company of tourney-bound knights and lords sets forth from Gulltown on the Gilded Lance, one of Lord Grafton's personal ships, noteworthy for its speed and agility in the water. Aboard for the voyage to King's Landing are a number of the Vale's heroes: Lord Quinn Wydham, agreed by all to be the greatest living sword in the Vale; his brother Ser Qoros Wydham, a famed lancer; the dark red and blue clad Ser Elgin Coldwater, called the Icefloe; Ser Vance Hargyng, called the Knight of Diamonds; and the soft spoken and black clad Ser Jonas Waxley -- perhaps the most feared man amongst them, for it was said he held that honor was meaningless, victory paramount.
While Lord Dominic Grafton remained in the Vale as Regent during Lord Rhodri's absence, his two sons, Ser Dortmund Grafton and Dalton Grafton joined the company.

The Bastard of Runestone, a Duskendale ship, docked at Gulltown. Aranya disembarked, accompanied by Ser Vance Hardyng on crutches, and Perra.
"I will see that you get a safe ride home to your keep, Ser Vance. I must continue on to the Eyrie."

Perra, who was holding Selyse and Lewyn, looked around in awe. Rhae was standing beside her. Aranya had not risked leaving the remaining children behind.
"Thank you, Ser Dortmund. I must leave immediately for the Eyrie. My son has been kidnapped, as was my ward Princess Nymeria. I must see my cousin."
She supported Vance with one hand.

"Thank you, ser. It feels good to be back." Aranya took Selyse from Perra and cradled her protectively.
"Will we find Nym here?" Rhae asked. "And Brynden?"
"Get on one of the horses, girl," Aranya said curtly. Perra shushed Rhae and led her to one of the waiting horses, placing her on the smallest one. Aranya turned to Vance. "Shall I find a wagon for you, ser? I don't want you to hurt that leg anymore."
