Phelan frowns.
"So, what the hell was my brother`s betrothed doing with your half-brother there?"

Erik replies to Phelan, "I really couldn't tell you. But if I had to guess, I would have to say she likely forgot her betrothal for a few hours, before passing out next to Sargon in a drunken stupor. Like you said, those Boltons don't have the best reputation."

"Or rather your brother got her drunk on purpose?"- Phelan gives Erik a stern look, but seems to be affected by his words.

Erik shrugs, "It's possible. But her prize from the treasure hunt was a large quantity of alcohol, and I'm sure she wasn't adverse to drinking it."

"So you claim that she is lying, regarding your involvement. You didn`t speak to her that night, neither you touched her?"

"Hadn't seen nor spoken to her since the treasure hunt."

"Trial by Seven." Seth had known about this 'variant' since he had first come into Ser Giles' service. It had always fascinated him as a boy, though now he knew that grim nature of it, instead of the indirect heroic stories.
"Are you contemplating asking for it?" Seth paused, as if mulling something over. "Know that were you to choose this course, I would stand next to you in battle."

"I was hoping you'd say that," Erik grins, "But it's not necessary just yet. We'll do what we can at the real trial, and see where it goes from there. I like my odds in a regular combat, anyway, against that boy knight the girl's set to marry. You know anything about him?"

"Hadn't seen nor spoken to her since the treasure hunt." "And can you prove it? Because if what you say is true....it would make Eleana a liar. It would damage the honour of my brother...but not only his. The honour of House Lannister is at stake here, and nothing is more important." He speaks gravely.

"He's an honorable man, a bit of a lout though. In anger I believe he would eschew his moral convictions. He is a Lannister. Even if he wouldn't fight dirty, he might unknowingly have help."

"No proof except my word. I should think that's worth more than the claim of a drunken, hysterical teenage girl."
----------------------------------
"Well, I suppose I'd be fighting dirty, then. Oh, did Lucas, Drumm, and Hardon speak to you?"

"Lucas did." Seth said simply.

"I suppose they're still playing the detectives? Know if they've spoken to Sargon, whether he's decided to tell these idiots the truth yet?"

"I don't know if they have spoken to him, but I plan to."

//////////////
A score of men pick their way across the darkness of the tourney-grounds. All clad in darkened mail and leathers. Quietly they proceed towards Erik’s tent. Hands ready on swords to meet any opposition.
