"He's a hot blooded man, but he's an honest man is he not? I take him for his word. If the dawn raider says he'll do something, than by the gods, I take him seriously."

"If I took everything seriously that Tallahar said then I would of had to arrest him of Treason. He is a boaster and you have arrested him for nothing Francis NOTHING." Finally she crumbles on the ground and starts to cry.

"Than I fear I have more respect for your husband than you do." Francis said, stepping gently out of the lady's grasp.
"Ser Alexander, take Lady Haley to the healer's tent, and see to it she receives some dreamwine and gets some rest."

Alexander speaks up softly from the side. "I did not hear the entire conversation so I know not was said between them," the young Knight offers, "but as I see it the root of the issue is whether Lord Tallahar can accept the King's Decree of a divided reach now and in the present." Alexander pauses afraid he has spoke too much already. "The Reach was divided for a reason, while it is not known what the future holds or what each lord's personal interest in the matter is. The king has said that the Reach will be divided with two Lords Paramounts so this is what must be done." Alexander frowns, "I am sad that there is so much disagreement between cousins but, no matter what was said, perhaps if Lord Tallahar would recant his statement that the Reach should be reunited before approved by the King then perhaps all can be forgiven?" he says looking at the Hand and Lord Varner.

"I don't have much hope. But if he recanted publicly and swore before the Septons and all the Seven that he will put aside such hopes than perhaps."

Haley looks up from the ground, "You want Tallahar to do that. I will have him stand on one foot praising the High Septon the King and the Old Gods if you want. As long as you all see that Tallahar means no offense to any man."

"The other thing Lady Haley, is that the man cannot serve the Hightower. My trust of him has been demolished, and he of mine cannot be much better. We will speak with Lord Regent Rindwynd, and find lands for your family in the Mander. I see no other choice."

"Lady Haley, I think all we need is for Lord Tallahar to say the he swears on the Seven aspects to obey the decree of King Rickon that the Reach will be divided in two: the Mander ruled by Lord Paramount Craych Tyrell at Highgarden and the The Far Reach ruled by Lord Paramount Justin Hightower at Oldtown until decreed otherwise by the King or his Lord Regent in his stead.” Alexander says, “would this be sufficient Lord Varner to clarify dreams from true ambitions?”

"I will make it so." Haley stands and walks to the Hands encampment.

Francis shakes his head and says to Ser Alex," Only when he feels the headsman's axe does Tallahar ever understand that he is error. What can you do with such men?"

"You can slap him on the wrists only so many times. As long as Tallahar remains in a position of power, he will only be a danger." Seth said, entering the tent.
"I understand Tallahar's position, and I am fond of the man, but only by taking away a child's toys will you be able to truly reprimand him."
Seth nodded to Francis, then to the knight he hardly knew, 'cept by name, and smiled. "That is what you can do."

Francis nodded, thankful for Lord Falgrave's voice of reason. "Whether this trial is averted or not, He and his kin will no longer rule at Uplands. That is the way it'll have to be."

"That would be a mercy to him, and good for the Reach. A man like Tallahar, when stripped of his honor, will fight tooth and nail to get it back. Quite literally. You will not have a more precious gift than the blind ferocity of the Dawn Raider on the battlefield."

"Let Uncle Rindwynd enjoy it. I know the man has his talents, but how can I trust him again? I'd rather have ten trustworthy men of mediocre talent, than an exceptional traitor."
