Anne grinned as she and Francis twirled across the floor. "I told you you could dance." Francis smiled, "As always it is your patience and understanding which gets me through my dear." He artfully dipped his wife, before bring her back up for brief moment of public affection.

Roland tried to look out over her head to hide any emotion that may have been passing over his face, as the song ended. He finally looked back down at her as the next began, trying to look impassive. "That's quite a tale, Shahi. So, how about you? What brings you to this tournament?" "I claim some slim connection to Lilith Royce, her mother was a Stark, and cousin to my sire. I saved all the money I've made as a seamstress to have a taste of what it is to be a fine lady." She smiled slightly and swirled her very pretty and well made dress. "I justified this trip as a way to advertise my wares, and Cousin Lilith was kind enough to give me an invitation."

Anne blushes and whispers, "I think I'm hungry." "Is he hungry too?" Francis said, glancing at the gentle bump at his Lady's waist. Some how Francis just assumed that it would be a he. Taking Anne by the arm, he led her off the dance floor and to their seat. "I can bring you something to eat, what would milady desire?"

Roland, feeling oddly suave, replied, "I must thank the gods or better, my Aunt Lil, for the presence of such a fine lady at the tourney." He realized how out of character that was as soon as he'd said it, and once again wondered if it was extraordinarily hot in the tent.

OOC: I'd been waiting for Roland's dance to end, apparently it will need a prodding.
After Roland's dance finished, another woman tapped him on the shoulder and took his hand. Benedicta was leading him onto the floor before the Royce quite realized she was there.

OOC - Hehhe, emelia, gaea's absence had indeed pushed the dance into a several day affair.
Just as Roland disengaged from Shahi, something was turning him around. He drank in Shahi's dark visage until the turn was complete and he realized someone more fair in complexion was leading him to the dancefloor. He felt her soft hand in his more calloused one, and then the dance began.

Graham and Mallery Blackwood sweep out onto the dance floor. A few of the older lords and ladies seem scandalized by some of their steps, but the couple either doesn't notice or doesn't care.

Benedicta shook her head at Roland as she led him through a twirl. "Dear Roland, don't tell me I'll always have to pry you loose from someone?" she asked, her characteristic smile on her face.

Roland tried to laugh in an easy manner that did not realy suit him. "I cannot help what effects my charms may carry on other young ladies, Benedicta." It sounded hollow to him, but he gamely tried to play the part.

Benedicta shook her head again. "Roland," she responded, squeezing his hands. "You get that cute smile on your face when you're trying to be at ease. It never fails."
She looked into Roland's eyes. "But then, if you were at ease around me, I'd know I was getting in a rut, and I'd have to do something creative to spark your interest again."

Roland felt a sensation of invigoration flow from his hands as Benedicta squeezed them. He responded, smiling, "Well, you do seem ever able to defeat my guard, Benedicta. This is a battlefield I'm not well trained to fight on."

Benedicta chuckled at Roland. "Of course," she responded. "And it's long past time you learned, surrendered, or perhaps both." Her eyes twinkled as she leaned into his arms to be lifted from the floor.

Roland smiled and obligingly lifted Benedicta from her feet. "Surrendered? Whatever to, milady?" He asked with mock innocence.
