Daven follows Roland's gaze and says, "Gods, fuck, Roland. Again?"
Roland shook his head and smiled at his friend, "Weren't you saying something about a drink?"
Daven nodded. "A drink. Yes," he said making his move, Roland followed but not before stealing another glance at the young dark haired girl he'd spotted.

Erik just stares at Haley for a moment, more than a little disbelief on his face. "Of course, my lady. Thank you for getting that out of the way to begin with. I have little patience for highborn cunts who think too highly of themselves." He gives a short bow and turns away to look for another dance partner.

"Ah, so they did reward you handsomely." Francis said with a grin. "Well I'm sure they'll make up for it. Isn't that right Lady Florent." Francis eyed the she-fox. "Dacey, perhaps you'll uphold your family's good name for generosity, and reward Ser Alex with a dance while i speak to your mother." "You have a wonderful asset there Lady Sybil." Francis said, turning both eyes on the Florent alpha female. "I would advise you to make a match with a man whose star is in the ascendant, rather than one whose already reached his zenith and is starting to decline again."

"Haley!" said Lilith in a fierce whisper, "You need to be polite to my guests!" She grinned at her friend. "You have obviously been spending too much time with Tallahar."

Lady Florent Smiles sweetly, "I am sure the Lord Regent has some ideas where I could find such a man for my daughter?"
//////////////////////////////
On the Dance floor, the littlest Florent and Ser Alexander Irwyn dance close. While Alex does not have all the fancy moves of the Dornishman, she feels comfortable in his arms.
"You were great at the Horse Race today, Alex" Dacey says trying to make conversation.
"Thank you milady, but I think it was my horse Ivy's Edge that deserves the praise," he says smiling sweetly.

Francis nodded, "I know of a gentlemen from a knightly house, well thought of, with a sizeable tract of land, and a working timber concern. With the revitalization of the Redwyne fleet it's sure to see some substantial funds coming in. It may be a worthwhile match. Of course, there's a question of a dowry, but I'm sure that you could certainly afford it. As for Ser Steffan, now that's where a quality match is truly crucial, seeing as he stands to inherit."

The Lady Fox smiles again, "Well Lord Varner, I think a daughter with the Florent name should marry someone of the same stature. Although, we could do much worse then a Knightly house." She looks over at Ser Steffan who has his arm fondly around another Knight of the Florent household, "I do worry about my son though," she says turning to a whisper, "I fear that even if he found a woman he would not consummate the marriage."

Francis sighed, "A man who can't secure an heir does not inspire confidence in his bannermen. That's a risk, both personal and political. But with some creative arranging...." Francis said simply, and quietly.

"Indeed. . . although hopefully, Alphonse will live a long and prosperous life and by then Ser Steffan will have grown out of his adolescent fascination," Lady Floren responds hopefully.

"I would count on Ser Steffan assuming the lordship rather sooner than later. Even if the King spares lives, there will be many new men on the wall this season. Your position may be even more tenuous than you know. Having your sweet daughter in a warm and prosperous house would be a burden off your mind, so that you can focus on your son's position."

"Oh dear," Sybil Florent thinks a loud, "you think the King will give my husband the watch?"
She lets out a deep sigh, her mind trying to imagine how she could possibly gain from the tragedy.

Francis sighed. "There is still much in doubt, but it is an eventuality for which you should be prepared. Can you trust my judgment in this matter? The Florents still have many men at arms in service to the Hightower, and I would see your house secured, if you'll allow it."
