Lord Baldwin Lannister stood at the front of the sept of Casterly Rock, nervously looking round the hall, searching for any sign of his son's bride. Allard was knelt beside him, impatiently tapping his foot on the floor, his scarlet and gold cloak draped regally across his shoulders.
Lilith Royce stood beside the altar next to the septon, in her capacity as translator she was to read the ceremony in Valyrian for the benefit of their foreign guests. Even she had was beginning to worry about Sara, as far as she knew the Lannisters knew nothing of her time at Casterly Rock, it would be all too easy for some misfortune to befall her and nobody know about it.
As the guests began to shift uncomfortably, tired of waiting, the doors burst open and Sara walked in, resplendent in ivory silk patterned with tiny pearls, a cloak of brightest orange and black slung over her shoulders. Her chestnut curls fell down to her waist, her eyes sparkled. The vision was only spoilt by the scowl that creased her face when she caught sight of Allard staring at her.
Lilith let out a small sigh of relief, smiling as she reached out to clasp Sara's hand and embrace her tightly. As Sara knelt down she could feel the tiny vial pressing into her palm. She slipped it into the folds of her dress as the septon began to speak.
She payed no attention to the blessings, vows and promises. She spent her time staring at the crowd, trying to pick out the faces of her family. She could see Elane at the front, next to her the Lord Breyn and behind them her half brother Selwyn Stone. Try as she might she could not see any sign of Rhodri or Jon and the though riled her immensely. When the time came for anyone to challenge the marriage, Sara found herself wishing Jon was here. There was no way he would let his cousin marry someone like Allard Lannister, the very man he so fervently wanted to kill! But nothing happened and she resigned herself to the marriage continuing.
She barely felt thing as her brother took the cloak from her back and her new husband swept the new Lannister one in its place. She could see Lilith repeating all the words in Valyrian, the strange beautiful tongue seemed like some hypnotic magic to Sara who could hear nothing else. She caught Lilith's smile as the ceremony ended and the sept flickered with rainbow lights that made her head spin. Before she could mouth any reply though, Allard was helping her to her feet and leading her out to the Great Hall of Casterly Rock for the feast.
