Gyles, remaining very calm, whilst secretly hoping Braumin would make his escape, said "Lord Stark! You desire a peaceful resolution, I am sure. Your gods surely frown on unnecessary bloodshed and strife, as do our own. If you let us travel south through the Neck, we will swear a holy vow never to enter your lands so long as each of us shall live. But let the boy go."

Eirek ignored Gyles, answering Leyton instead.
"Not at all. No one will be harmed. But I'm certainly not going to leave some other knight here to lead this band of ruffians to cause trouble. And if this priest suggests to me that he knows a thing about my Gods again, I'll water a weirwood with his blood."

"As you wish. Gyles sighed with sadness. He really did not understand why the Northman was so determined to make trouble. He looked to Leyton "Warrior protect you, Leyton Hightower."

Leyton was shackled, as were the other men coming with them. "It's a long walk to Winterfell, boys," Eirek taunted them, "I do hope you brought your good boots."

"Alas, we did not think to bring spare horses with us. Feel free to bring your own, if your peasants haven't already stolen them. But make it quick. I want to get some miles behind us before nightfall."

Leyton gestured to the knights to procure horses, in order to lessen their humiliation. The men returned moments later with a sufficient number of ill fed mounts.

"Lovely. Let's be on our way, then."
Eirek turned to one of his soldiers, telling him, "Take ten men and follow those heading to White Harbor. Make sure the cross they White Knife. Should they loiter, or appear to turn back into the North, send word to Winterfell."
