It is announced that the Master of Laws, Lord Bayard Royce, has been placed in charge of the investigation into Ser Mace Tyrell's murder. Any who have relevant information are to contact him immediately.
Lord Royce holds his court, such as it is, in his guest chambers. Bayard sits in the middle of one side of a long oaken table, his manservant Cassar Saras sitting slightly to one side. There is an empty chair on the other side of the table. Royce has his servants bring in the first person he requested, the man who discovered the body.

It was a maid named Nellie who had first stumbled upon the corpse. She was still shaking when she came before Royce.

Gareth Hightower, having been put in charge of the Hightower's investigation of the matter, is present as an observer. He smiled at Nellie when she came in, to put her at ease. It would not do to have her hold back possibly vital information out of fear.

After the maid is ushered in and sits down, Bayard begins without preamble. "At what time did you find the body?" Bayard asks.
