The Castellan's offices are made up of three rooms in Casterly Rock. They are, Lord Jon's personal office, where the castellan spends a great deal of his time, a small meeting room, and Lord Jon's bedroom. The haggard man does not see much sleep, it does not appear, as he slaves away making sure Casterly Rock runs smoothly. Today, Lord Jon sits at his desk, dipping his quill into a bowl of ink, and continues writing. Once finished, the man shakes the paper for a few minutes, allowing the ink to dry. And then, he repeats the process, signing various documents that fall below the care of the Lord of Casterly Rock.
OOC: Anyone feel free to post in to talk to Lord Jon.

Jon looked up from the parchment briefly, "Oh, what?" He obviously did not hear the boy clearly the first time, raising his head to look at Martyn. "Oh," he repeated, "Did he now? Ser Boros knows about jousting, certainly." The old man places his quill down, sighs and leans backward. "Have you been as dutiful in your studies with the maester?" Jon smiled at that, "You might become castellan of Casterly Rock one day." He waves his hand up slightly, "Look at these lavish accommodations." Jon laughed to himself, realizing the joke would likely be lost on an eleven year old.

"Castamere is not so great as Casterly Rock, Martyn." He pauses, "But it is a worthy holding and well attended while I am here."
Jon nods, "It can be, but it is important. Today, I hired twenty men to help patrol the streets to Casterly Rock. We need those men to keep people safe, and they need jobs to feed their families." He pauses, "Plus, well, I purchase all the horses we bring into the Rock." That was technically true, as he spent the money, but he certainly had nothing to do with the brokerage or selecting of them. "You would not be able to ride in a joust without a horse!"

"I do not choose them, Martyn," Jon answers, "I purchase them." He looks over Martyn, "The Master of Horse chooses and breeds the horses." Jon feigns a smile, "But, I choose the Master of Horse, so, in a sense." He shrugs, having a difficult time relating to a young child.

"Take the Black?" Jon says, standing and looking concerned. "Are you sure, Martyn? May I see the letter?" The tone in his voice is extremely concerned.

Jon reads the note and takes a deep breath. "I need to keep this note, for the moment," Jon tells Martyn. "I will give it back to you, but I need to show your father." He thinks about that, then stands up. "I want him to come home too, Martyn," Lord Jon says, stepping around his desk and heading for the door. "Come, you should be sleeping," he said, the hour getting late. Lord Jon knew he had to go speak to nephew about this recent development.
