"Aye. What about the others?" Sasha wondered. "Might need them, cos we don't know if we'll find a trap when we get there. But you're right, we'll need to hurry. But it don't say whwere the temple is."

Markus rolled his eyes, and produced his copy of the map that they'd been provided with by Cave's agents. "It's gotta be here, 'bout three'r'four days from Black'aven, jus' like 'e said. Only thing, we gotta get our gear, and tha' fat wench won' be able t'get us what we need from where she is."
Markus shrugged. "If they're alive, they might show up. Though, if tha' Podrick fellow ever comes back, he'll be gettin' his throat slit like ol' Ben said. I'm leavin' tomorrow, whoever's here. We go' a job t'do, and I mean t'do it."

Sasha considered that. She'd forgotten the map in all the confusion of earlier. "Now would be as well as tomorrow. Guards might come looking for us," she pointed out. "Could leave a message for the others, and head out soon as we're done here."

"They know where we're going, and a message could be found by anyone," he replied, shaking his head. "You're welcome t'wait for them, if y'wish, but I'm leavin' t'morrow. Gear'll be a problem. So many guards out on the streets, buyin up rope and climbin spikes and weapons are sure t'draw their suspicion.

OOC: Everyone should have returned before the message was decoded. You can assume everyone is around.

OOC: If they're still alive, it would be great if they posted Nobody knows I've got the little key, right? Or was I unable to hide it when I slipped that into my pocket when I first found the note?

OOC - clearly something has to be posted so hope this works! No clue what's up with Dickon though!
"Bet they are drinking while we talk business," Sasha grumbled. "Fine, we leave tomorrow. Why don't we split up and each get different items and then meet up outside town. I'll go see what's keeping the others."
She found Creighton and Gregory in a different room. "We've looked at the message. We're leaving tomorrow, Markus and me. Come with us if you want."

Gregory glanced at Creighton before shrugging. "Good. While you and Markus were doing doddling over a note, I've managed to save Creighton's life. He won't be ready for any fighting for several days, so waiting a bit may be more beneficial. You're a fool if you expect to leave tomorrow, anyways. The guards are on alert looking for a group who has killed several guards, a citizen, and believed to have killed another. They will expect us to try and leave, and you will walk to your death."

"We can't dally here," Sasha grumbled. "If we go separately and meet up at a designated place we'll be fine."
She glanced at Creighton and then back at Gregory. "I am sorry about his wounds, but don't make the mistake of thinking that Lord Cave cares for our own lives. He wants the job done, that's all. If Creighton were to fall, Cave would care only that the matter be handled discreetly. He'd shed no tears for any one of us. And you know, I did my best to get us away without fuss, but it's not my bloody fault it went to pieces. Stay or come with us, I don't care. But Markus has the letter, and he and I are determined to finish the job."

"Whether or not his life matters to Cave does not matter to me. This mission may already be a lost cause, losing even a single man will make it harder. If we go separately, we risk the chance of one or several of us being captured. Do not be so quick to finish that you find your end much sooner."

Sasha sighed. "Then what would you do? If we fail, Cave will likely kill all of us. Succeed and we will live. The chance is worth taking."
She stepped closer to the door.

"Rest a few days, prepare properly, and then depart in pairs at nightfall. It will give us enough time to learn what the guards plan to do, and we can work from there." Gregory shook his head wearily, lacking any form of enthusiasm or gusto. "Any information could be valuable at this point, and I doubt that letter gave us much."

"We can't hide scared from the guards," Sasha warned. "We must take the chance while we can."
