Elyssa's Chambers

[Elyssa Stark]

A smallish room, but cozy, Elyssa's bedchamber has several small windows and one large fireplace. It is designed to be quite warm in harsh winters.

Elyssa sat idly turning pages in a well-worn novel as ahe waited for her half-sister Dacey to appear. Her excitement and nervousness were apparent in her bright eyes.

Dacey knocked on the door before entering. As usual, there were dark circles under her eyes. "You wanted to see me?" she asked, fiddling with the hem of her woolen dress.

Elyssa got up, tossing the book aside and not caring that it landed on the floor. "Come in, come in, quickly! And close the door behind you!" Elyssa rushed over and closed the door before Dacey had done more than step inside. "I have something important to say."

[Edric Stark]

Dacey turned around to look at her sister, rather confused. "Yes?" she asked, expecting news of her engagement to Damon or something the like.

[Elyssa Stark]

"Sit down, sit down, please." Elyssa guided Dacey to a comfortable chair and pushed her down in it. "Well..." she took a deep breath. "Damon and I are leaving Winterfell. I can't bear to be here any longer. We need you to come with us."

[Edric Stark]

Dacey frowned at being shoved around, or perhaps at the idea of leaving. Running off had often had terrible consequences in her past, but the escape to Winterfell had been a success.. until now. She did not want to leave her safe place, but she did not exactly want to stay either, especially after Eirek's last announcement that most likely meant another war.

"Where are you going?" she asked as her frown deepened. "And why do you need me?"

Elyssa sat on the edge of her bed a few feet away and leaned forward intently. "To King's Landing. It was my idea. I invited Damon along because well, I can't go alone. I need you, Dacey, because I trust you. For something like this, you need people you can trust."

[Edric Stark]

"King's Landing.. To Edric?" asked Dacey, but seemed a bit hesitant. "Are you sure you c- I mean, we could pull it off?"

[Elyssa Stark]

"Yes, to Edric. He's the only one with any sense in this family anymore. Besides me. And you." Elyssa smoothed her skirts nervously. "So you'll come, won't you?"

[Edric Stark]

Dacey took a deep breath and nodded, although the sound part of her wanted to protest. "How will we protect ourselves on the way?" she asked, lowering her voice; in her mind, they were conspiring something terrible against the very brother that had offered her a home a few years ago. She though of the direwolf, whose howling in the woods behind Winterfell could be heard almost every other night. "Do you mean to bring Havoc?"

Elyssa nodded. "We couldn't run away to Edric without bringing Havoc along. The poor thing misses him so."

"Anyway, I'll have my bow, and Damon his sword, and Havoc is quite protection enough, wouldn't you think?"

[Edric Stark]

Dacey nodded, unaware of how much Elyssa knew about her own pastimes that involved knives and bows. Probably not much. "When do you plan on leaving?" she asked.

[Elyssa Stark]

"As soon as possible. We're going to gather some supplies and secret them.in the woods, then go out for a ride one morning and never come back." Elyssa smiled. "A good plan, don't you agree?"

[Edric Stark]

"Well, would it not make more sense to sneak out during the night when everyone is sleeping?" she inquired. "To give us a better start?"
