She chuckled politely,"If you must know, "I asked that she not accompany me tonight." "I felt that should be allowed to see things for myself", she smiled with her lilac eyes twinkling with excitement,"as they are with out her this time." Melyssa then spotted the young lady Nymeria smiled at earlier. She smiled at her while motioning for her to join them, hoping she could aid her in dealing with the banters of the rude Lannister girl. "A wise decision," Nymeria replied with a clever little nod. "And how are you seeing things different, hmmm? It sure must help not having to hold your nose all the time; that old woman had a smell to her." She sipped at her watered wine and studied the man who was talking to the Royce.

"Leyton, why don't you fetch us both a drink?" Aurane suggested, giving his squire a nod. "A red for our beautiful friend here and something white for me." "Yes, of course my lord." Leyton limped off slightly begrudgingly at a much slower speed than he had arrived at.

Tyrell chuckled, "Men see what they want to. You value courage so you attribute it to s man's success no matter the ummmm true cause." "Perhaps." Oswyn allowed, seeing the merit in his words. "And what is it you value, my lord?"

Izzy watched Leyton go for a second before she looked back at Lord Lannister. "Will you be offering my cousin his knighthood, my lord? I know it is often common for a boy to be knighted by the man he squired for."

"I don't see why I should not," Aurane answered, giving a slight shrug. "He fought well in the war, took a wound for me in battle. More than that, he saved my life. I owe him as much."

Lord Bertren smiled slowly at Oswyn, and titled his head before replying, "Why... it is simple of course... I value my family." He motioned with his hand toward the Princess Rose.

"I don't see why I should not," Aurane answered, giving a slight shrug. "He fought well in the war, took a wound for me in battle. More than that, he saved my life. I owe him as much." Her eyes widened in surprise. Evidently she was very much impressed. "Well that is good news! He must be old enough to be knighted now, surely? I am sure it would be most pleasing if you cared to do it soon. For Leyton and for his kin. My brothers would be so proud, I know." She paused and smiled at the lord. "You must be relieved to have the war over with at last, my lord?" //////////// Meanwhile, Gwayne Hightower entered the manse. He had been somewhat delayed but he entered in a fine grey doublet trimmed with white and silver and embroidered with the sigil of his house.

"A worthy sentiment. I am sure your granddaughter will handle the unexpected weight of rule with poise and grace." Oswyn said with a slim smile. "With the proper support structure, of course: soldiers and courtiers alike."

"She has myself, and her uncle. I am sure we fit roughly into the molds you mentioned." Bertrem replied and smiled, "And soon I will have to beat the suitors off her with a stick. Several houses have already made their interest known in her hand."

"The rest of the Small Council as well, sparse as it is at the moment." he remarked, considering the suitors already lining up in hopes of becoming the future king. "Are there any candidates under consideration? On that note, who will be deciding on her behalf?"

Bertrem turned to study Oswyn, "She will be queen. I expect she will have.... a fair bit so say on the matter."

"I see." Oswyn said warily. "I had assumed it would be in the best interest of realm to have the decision made and announced before the coronation, but I am sure you have things well in hand to trust such an important decision to a young girl's heart, queen or not."

"I am sure here Uncle will make a lion share of the work, and of course they will both listen to my advice." Bertrem replied, "She should be married now two years or so, but her father refused. And to be fair there are few worthy of such... a spouse."

"She will have sound counsel then." Oswyn commented, thinking more of her uncle than the man before him. "Then who are these few worthy you speak of?" He was not aware the previous king had refused to marry off Rose in the past, though could not help thinking the matter should be decided soon with another potential claimant still loose.

Bertrem studied Oswyn for several moments, and frowned slightly. "Do you truly have that little knowledge of the ....ummmm preeminent houses and their lines?"
