Description
Ser Damian is a tall, broad-shouldered man whose athletic frame was born from hard training and battle. He wears a crooked smirk, with a traditionally handsome face and deep-set eyes that have an imperious, hungry look to them. Damian's noble garb is finely made but inopulent, dark colors with a few bronze inlays or ornaments. In battle, Ser Damian wields a longsword on foot or lance on horse, and wears an ancient set of plate armor forged from bronze that has been possessed by House Royce for ages, engraved with ancient runes and glyphs that are said to protect their wearer from all harm.
Reputation
Ser Damian has only a small reputation outside the Vale, aside from his status as Lord Bayard's heir. Few may remember a rambunctious and willful youth from his time in King's Landing, grown now into a capable swordsman and tactician. Damian was knighted at age fifteen after having squired for his uncle Mac Royce, a distant relation. He serves his lord father as general to the Vale armies, and oversees Runestone in Bayard's stead. Damian married young to Lady Elena Grafton, and though they have born three daughters, troublingly no male heir has yet emerged.
Since his youth Damian has been an avid reader, perhaps due in part to Lord Bayard's inability or his own appetite for legends of glory and mystery. He has assembled the beginnings of an impressive library at Runestone, and many merchants that make port through the Vale will hear rumors of Ser Damian's offer to purchase exotic and rare books or scrolls from across the Narrow Sea.
