After the end of the war in the Stepstones, the Vale lords and their knights slowly begin to return home. Weeks later, Ser Damian's own forces arrive, and the Royce knight dismisses his bannermen to return to their lands. Before Damian can depart for Runestone, Lord Grafton delivers to him a message sent from his lord father. Instead of making for Runestone, Ser Damian sets off by horse for the Eyrie with a small retinue.
