Gareth's gaze scanned across the field and watched as the Toad's army slowly moved into formation. His own horse was skitterish, stamping its hooves and tossing its head. Gareth wrapped the reins around his fists and pulled hard to get the horse under control. When his horse was calmer, he shrugged his shoulders in resignation.

"Tully has the command. We follow orders, give advice where we think it warranted and try and keep as many of our men alive as possible." he said. "Not to mention ourselves."

"Indeed. But I mean, what did you make of our being placed on the left?" Gwayne asked. He was in full armour now, plate as well as mail and leather, all of it polished to a sheen. The Hightower sigil was displayed on his surcoat, he carried both sword and shield. His horse too was armoured.
