Character Personal History:
Ser Oswyn was born the eldest son and heir of Lord Sammael Baratheon. A dutiful son, he grew up idolizing his father's virtues rather than acknowledging his lecherous faults. He was a bright and active boy in his youth; often found hunting or hawking in the Stormland's lush woods, trekking its rocky peaks, riding upon its verdant plains, and diving from cliffs to swim in its azure but treacherous bay. Though a reminder of his father's few failing, Oswyn's bastard brother and milk-brother, Donal Storm, became his closest friend and companion in these adventures.
At the age of 13, Oswyn was sent to Blackhaven to squire for Lord Konrad Dondarrion. There he honed his active nature into the martial profession, earning his spurs at the age of 17 after participating in a handful of skirmishes involving minor border disputes with Dorne. In the same year, he stunned the realm when he won the grand tourney in celebration of the marriage of Crown Prince Maelys Targaryen. This act brought him great wealth and cemented his reputation and one of the finest lances in the realm.
Much like his father had in his youth, Ser Oswyn travelled the tourney circuit for several years, earning continued renown. When not riding the lists, he was often embroiled in the disputes in the Dornish Marches or battling pirates on his father's behalf in the Stepstones. Hunting in the Kingswood also proved to be a continued solace as the lad aged, as did his affection for burnt wine. In 690, when King Aegon died and King Maelys ascended to the throne, the new King also took an interest in the Stepstones, and a greater war was joined to conquer them. Oswyn proved his worth in the campaign, testing his mettle in the first true war of his life, oftentimes taking command of the knights of the Stormlands to break the enemy lines.
In 294, during the light winter that brought a pause to the war, Ser Oswyn was wed Lady Amelia Lannister. Nine months later she bore a son, which was named Theodore. With the war having resumed in the Stepstones, the boy has yet to meet his father, but has been raised under the watchful eye of Ser Arthur Connington, master-at-arms and castellan of Storms End.
Character Physical Description: Oswyn possesses many physical features inherent in the Baratheon bloodline. He is tall and lean, powerfully built from years of training for knighthood in the Dornish Marches, with black hair and piercing blue eyes. He has a small scar upon his right brow and two crooked fingers on his right hand from an assault suffered in Kings Landing.
Character Reputation: Ser Oswyn earned fame and reputation as the victor of the Grand Tourney at Kings Landing in 680. He is also known to be a fearsome warrior and competent cavalry commander.
