After she left the courtiers' hall, Izzy headed up to her former goodfather's chambers to find out if he was free to speak with her.

She is admitted, and Lord Bertrem and his eldest son, Ser Mace Tyrell. The two men stood as she entered. They took turns embracing her.

She favoured the two with her sweetest smile.
"You have my thanks for your gracious welcome, my lords. I am so happy to be here in the capital at last. I hope I am not intruding?"

"You are family dear, and that is never an intrusion." Bertrem replied, "Would you join us for some tea." He motioned for her to take his seat. A servant brought him new one immediately.

"I'd like that very much," she said. "I hope I may be of some use to you while I am here, my lord."

Mace smiled at her, "What did you have in mind Izzy?" He scratched at his jaw studying her closely.

"I'm not sure. I wish to be at court, of course, so if there is anything I can do to help you with the courtiers, I should be glad to. I would also like to befriend Princess Rose."

Mace nodded, "I am sure we can arrange an introduction to the Princess. She should met her Aunt Izzy." He smiled again.
Bertrem replied, "We will see. I am not sure if there is anything you can do for us, but if there is I will ask."

"Thank you, my lord. I am only three and twenty. It feels strange to be an aunt to a princess who is a woman grown," Izzy laughed. "But I would be honoured to be her friend. I am here to represent my house at Court. Because my brothers are at war, and Mother has to rule as regent at the Hightower."

Mace said, "Yes you are quite young. But the Princess still seems a girl to me." He smiled.
Betrem spoke, "Well it is almost time for this war to end. We all feel this way. And from what I hear it will end quite soon."

"I pray that my brothers return safely." But she was so used to saying it the phrase had lost all meaning for Izzy, even though she truly wished her brother's well and wanted them home again. "That is good to know, my lord. But how can you know? Do you think we are going to win?"

"We have word from Myr and Tyrosh that the leaders are pressuring their Volantis puppet masters to end the war." Bertrem replied, "Another defeat...."
Mace nodded, "And Tully has claimed word from Tyr and Volantis itself echoes those reports." He poured Izzy some tea from a hot pot a servant set on the table.

"Indeed? Which Tully is that?" Izzy asked. "I know Lord Tully himself has had dealings with my kin in the past, is it him?"
She accepted the teacup with a smile.

Mace replied, "No it is Symon Tully of the Night's Watch. They have created quite a spy network under their new Lord Commander. It is run..."
Bertrem interrupted his son. "Mace..."
