6) Character Personal History: Tynian is the second child of Gerion Lannister and a great disappointment to him, such was his stature and martial skills as he grew. He suffered tremendous beatings because of it and was only spared a live of utter misery by the opportunity to be fostered at the Eyrie with Lord Bayard Royce and his family. This initially came as a great relief to him and allowed him to follow his naturally more bookish interests, though the Vale male children could be as mocking as those of the West to a slight, sallow-faced youth as well. Eventually, after 10 years of living in the Vale, Tynian returned aged 15 to his father's "loving embrace" at Kings Landing. To say the reunion did not go well would be an understatement as Tynian was given the most severe beating he'd ever received, near killing him. Again fate intervened and he was spared further punishment by the disappearance of Lord Gerion Lannister not long after his return, making his brother Aurane, the new Lord of Casterly Rock. He followed with him to the Stepstones War which broke out a little later and spent a year with the Lannister forces, operating an irregular force of mercenaries, sellswords and n'are-do-wells behind enemy lines and undermining their resources and keeps with mixed results. After that year was up, he left the war to his family and flitted about the Free Cities for the next 9 years picking up new friends, contacts and skills as he did so.

7) Character Physical Description: Tynian is a man of average height, around 5'9" and has a slender physique, though has a wiry strength to it at times. He has the pale blond hair and blue eyes of the Lannisters and a pencil thin moustache and 'musketeer' beard. He has a small scar above his left eyebrow, a gift from his father during a beating.

History:

Mellar was born to a whore in one of the many pleasure houses in Volantis. He helped his mother by taking on odd jobs and often was sent to the docks to give directions to the pleasure house to the sailors who berthed there. As much as he hated his mother's line of work, it was the only life he knew and he had seen enough of the unfortunates and beggars around the city to realise that a secure warm bed and fresh food were luxuries to people like them.
However, such jobs brought with it their own dangers and just after his 11th Nameday he was taken one evening by a gang of slavers and quickly smuggled out of Volantis by sea. He was sold to an Mereenese galley and spent the next few years onboard as it's captain travelled around Slavers Bay selling and trading goods. He killed his first man, a pirate, when only 14 years of age as the galley was attacked on the way to Astapor. For that, he was awarded his freedom for that, though in truth he fought not so much for the ship or it's crew, but only to survive. He left the ship once it returned to Mereen and tried to make his own way in the world. He joined a sellsword company and spent the next 10 years travelling with them as they worked for various factions, merchants and cities as they fended off Dothraki raiders and other sellsword companies paid by rivals. Once he'd made enough gold, he left the company and returned to Volantis to buy his mother's freedom only to discover that she'd died several years earlier, from the pox. At a loss with what to do with himself, he was eventually hired by Tynian Lannister to be his sworn sword and bodyguard. A position he has filled for the past 8 years.

Appearance: A seasoned warrior with few scruples, he is lithe and dark-haired and has a broad chest and shoulders which he uses to deadly effect when armed with his favourite battle axe.
