Jennalynn grinned and shook her head.
"No, they wouldn't, not if they know what was best for them." she said and took a sip of tea. "Though I know that Donnel isn't a liar, it's just so boring to listen to him tell it over and over again, but I think he is a bit annoyed that he had to remain in the Vale while his older brother went to the Stepstones and returned a hero."

"Oh, probably. Men are so touchy about their honour, aren't they? They hate to be left out of glory and things. And yet sometimes there's something to be said about not risking your life. But try telling a man that," Izzy sighed with the air of someone who knew. "They'd like it a great deal less if they were women, I can tell you!"

Jennalynn smiled behind her cup, glancing back at Ser Gareth, wondering what the knight were thinking about their line of thought.
"You are probably right, La..Izzy, though I can't say that I know that much about men except my cousins and those I view as my brothers that I was raised with at court. And now that the traitor Prince has left the court, there isn't as many young men and possible suitors at court anymore."

"Surely it's not as bad as all that," Izzy replied. "None of my own brothers are wed, and I'm sure there's others as well. Who would you like to court you?"

Jennalynn blushed and looked down at her lap as Izzy mentioned her brothers, especially since one of them were in the room with them. She wasn't particularly embarressed by the question at all, but one had to keep up the appearance of a young girl not fully grown.
"Well, I haven't met that many unwed men and those I have met are way too old for me, but I guess I would like to meet someone charming and sweet that sweeps me of my feet, like those men that the minstrels sing about in about every love song."

"Yes. Everyone wants that. At least most women do," Izzy said. "I told you that I was married, didn't I? my husband was not quite the man of my dreams, but he was well enough. I am hoping I will be lucky enough to find the perfect man next time."

Jennalynn nodded and took a sip of tea as Izzy told her about her now dead husband.
"I'll pray to the Mother that she will bring you such a man, Izzy. Maybe my cousin is that man" she said and chuckled.

"I'd not object if he was," Izzy replied. "I shall pray you are granted a charming husband too."

Jennalynn smiled at Izzy.
"Thank you, I pray so too. Hopefully the gods will hear our prayers. So what will you be wearing at the next party you go to? I was thinking of going to the seamstress again and order a few more gowns so that I'll have enough for all the parties that are being held in the next couple of weeks."

"I'm not sure. I've got a few new gowns," Izzy said. "I could always use more, though. A lady cannot have enough dresses, can she?"

Gareth had moved to the window and was staring out of it watching for his brother's arrival. He listened to the chatter between his sister and her guest with a wry smile.
"You will be looking for a long time for the perfect man, sister. No such man exists. No woman either. You should learn to be more forgiving of other's faults, as you might expect others to be forgiving of yours."

Izzy looked at Gareth with a smile.
"I am hardly looking to marry Baelor the Blessed, sweet brother! That would be rather...dull. Indeed, one woman's perfection is not the same for all women. But nonetheless, I have some idea of the kind of man I might like to marry, so what's the harm in looking? And truly, what about you? Surely you have some idea of the kind of lady you'd like to marry?" She gave him a sly look. "Dearest Jennalyn is unwed."

"There are many unwed ladies in Kings Landing and for that matter the Far Reach." replied Gareth. "It is unlikely I will marry because I like the lady. Any marriage must primarily be a marriage of convenience. Undertaken to secure a political alliance most like."

"Oh yes, I know that," Izzy agreed. "But it's fun to think about marrying someone you actually like, isn't it? Don't be so dull, Gareth! Surely you are hoping for someone sweet and comely?"

"If she is sweet and comely as well, then I shall indeed be fortunate." replied Gareth. "No doubt Gwayne will have some thoughts on the matter of possible brides."
