Not long after midday, Mychel knocked on the door to where the Maester stayed. He rocked onto his toes and back again as he waited, full of boyish energy.

The door opened and the Maester Roland glared at him, "What?"

"Good afternoon to you too, Maester," Mychel replied, a false smile gracing his delicately featured face inside he was imagining punching his face, "I have come to ask you for some insight, may I come in?"

The maester sighed, and nodded, "Come in, come in." He growled in his odd harsh accent.

Mychels smile widened briefly, but got no more genuine and he entered the room.
"Thank you," he said, then looked round the room, having never been inside before, "How is Tynian?" small talk was not his strong suit.

"He will recover." He replied, "Is that your only question."

"No. I'd not waste your time on that when I have even more frivilous things to question you about," Mychel said, dryly. I was wondering what was known about the manner in which the sword Brightroar disappeared?"

"A mercenary Lannister lost it across the Narrow sea." Maester Roland replied.

"As in, on the land across the narrow sea?" Mychel asked, not sure if he meant across it or across. "Do you know the name of this mercenary?"

"Yes... I do not recall which land across the narrow sea, nor the name of the mercenary. I do remember the blade being mentioned in a book I read once, but it was during my training." Roland replied.

"Do you remember what the book was called?" Mychel replied, going slow was clearly the key to cracking this egg.

"A treatsie on the Valyrian Steel weapons of the West by Maester Tosh." Roland asked.

"Yes, that sounds almost tailor made to my interests." Mychel said, a small smile growing on his face, "In case this doesn't hold anything, is there anyone in the city with perhaps more of a specialised knowledge of this sort of thing, I could talk to that you know of?"

"In King's Landing I doubt it. There are a couple of men in the Citadel who know a thing or two." Roland replied.
