House Hightower, Lords Paramount of the Far Reach, Lord of Oldtown
After Lord Barret Tyrell committed suicide, the Reach's regent Aaron Fossoway rebelled against the crown per the Late Lord Tyrell's will. They imprisoned the king, who was assassinated in prison by a third party. The rebellion was put down and most of its leadership killed at an event called the Bloody Parley. Following that, it was decided the Reach was too strong to be ruled by one man and so it was split into two regions -- the Mander ruled by the Tyrells, and the Far Reach ruled by the Hightowers.
The Hightower lord (Justin Hightower) was only a baby at the time and had a series of regents, including Francis Varner and Alex Irwyn, but eventually came of age, only to be killed in battle at the age of 30 leaving a nine year old son Robert. Like his father Lord Robert died at the age of 30 leaving no surviving issue. His younger brother Pedric succeeded to the Far Reach, only to be killed in battle four years later only leaving bastard sons. His nephew Jaymes succeeded him but was uexpectedly also killed in battle just a few months later. The only remaining Hightower was his sister Danyella, who inherited the Far Reach. She took as her husband Oswell Tully who fathered her daughter Morgan. Upon his death at Horn Hill she took her her second husband Randyll Meadows (the younger son of a Mander lord). Randyll Meadows was also murdered the year after, but not before fathering Danyella's son Garnett, who took his mother's name of Hightower.
