"Family is important, I should know." He smiles "More of the Midlands have larger parties." He smiles. "Who knows you may find to enjoy them." Aemon noticed his nephew and walked over to him. He caught the last part of the conversation and waited for an appropriate time to interrupt."Harold, it is good that I found you. I wouldn't be able to navigate these social waters without you." He turned towards the Dornishman,"Greetings, I am Aemon Tully. And you are?"

Ser Regard Hall entered the room, his attire just at the bottom of edge of extravagant, in a manner that suggested money and class, but proved neither. He brushed a strand of blonde hair out of his way, and scanned his field of competitors for the coming joust.

Young Aurane had managed to get away from his fathers side and was walking around the hall, slipping past nobles and knights. He found he whole thing a bit boring and was looking for an adventure. The boy was so lost in his own thoughts that he only noticed that he was walking into someone before it was too late.
"Ouch! Sorry!" Aurane managed as he fell over. He looked up to see who he had run in to.

It turned out to be one of the men who he had met briefly earlier in the night -- the scarred Lord Royce. Literally blindsided by the collision, Bayard nonetheless manages to regain his balance after only a step. The Lord's foreign manservant scowls at the child with disdain, then says something in his own language -- Aurane can hear the name "Lannister."
"You gave me quite the start there, young man," Bayard says, turning toward the boy. "I hope you are alright?"

Aurane saw only the scars and flinched, then noticed the other man and flinched again.
"I... I am alright, Lord Royce, sorry..." He managed, slowly getting up. "I was thinking about, uh, a girl.... sorry I ran into you!"
He wasn't entirely sure why he had confessed about the Martell, who had been on his mind every since he'd met her, but it seemed a better thing to say than any other excuse he could have come up with. He had been taught that a lie should only be told when it was necessary.

"Then your absentmindedness is quite understandable. Many a man has lost track of time thinking about a girl. But while I have you here, young Ser, might I trouble you with a few questions about your little brother?"

Aurane almost panicked then, when the subject of his brother came up. What did Royce want to ask? Tynian got as much of the abuse his father piled out as his mother did, and Aurane did not know if he should tell anyone or not.
"Tynian? Uh, I guess... my lord," He quickly added.

"Does he attend to his studies? Has he begun training with the sword?" Bayard asks.

"I... I think he has started reading things but I am not sure about swords..." Aurane replied. "I spent a lot of time away from home with Ser Leonard so I don't see him too much these days."

"I see." Lord Bayard's face gave up little about his thoughts. "And he is... obedient to your father?"

Aurane bit his lip, trying to hide his reaction from the creepy foreign man. "I... he... yes. He does what father asks him to do." He paused. "Tynian cries a lot..."

The creepy foreign man said something in his language to his lord. "Ah." Bayard said. He sounded sad. "You should remember, Aurane, that even if you are away from Tynian for a long time, he is still your brother. Family is very important." The unsolicited advice seemed only somewhat on topic, but Bayard was thinking farther ahead now.

"I..." Aurane began, then stopped. He nodded and looked at the ground. "I like telling him stories, when I can. Ser Serwyn of the Mirror Shield is his favourite. He likes the stories where the clever people win." Another pause, then "Why are you asking about my brother, my lord, if I may ask?"

"Symeon Star-Eyes was always my favorite," Bayard says kindly, "But Ser Serwyn is a good one too. And I am asking about your brother, Aurane, because there is a possibility he may come and live with my family in the Eyrie for some time. But you must promise to keep that a secret until I ask your parents formally."

"The Eyrie!?" Aurane exclaimed, sounding astounded. He wished he could be going there, and not to Casterly Rock or Lannisport or Horn Hill. He liked being a squire a lot but he also liked adventures. Maybe there were dragons in the Eyrie. "I can do that... are... are there dragons in the Eyrie?"
