"Speaking of Lioness, wasn't Baelor supposed to marry one?" Finn asked, "Did Garnet announce it? I didn't hear it."

Mariya shrugged.
"I don't know. But I never heard it. Unless...maybe one of them refused to have the other? Are you speaking of Tyana? I can't imagine she and Baelor would be at all suited, so perhaps it's just as well."

"I have not seen Lord Garnet spend much time concerning who is best suited with who," Finn replied, "So it must be something else. And who dares refuse?"

"Not us," Mariya observed. "But Starks and Lannisters were kings once. Perhaps it gives them confidence to refuse a man like Lord Garnet where the rest of us do not dare?"

Finn raised his eyebrow, "Perhaps, but than you make two enemies. Hightower and the snubbed would be bride or groom. And the Lannisters and Starks were both on Hightowers side during the war. So they will not find many allies among those they subjugated."

"I don't know then. Unless one of them is already betrothed and we just didn't hear about it?" Mariya suggested.. "I don't know what else it could be."

Finn shrugged, "I can ask Danyella to ask Tyana, maybe she'll know."

"Of course. If you want. Or I could ask Tyana directly. I want to speak to her anyway so I've been planning to visit," Mariya confided. "Although...I'm not sure how knowing the answer benefits either of us."

"Knowing always benefits. Are you willing to take a walk with me later... in Oldtown?" He asked.

"Of course," she said. "Though tomorrow would be better. I don't think we should go walking about the city after dark. Do you want to go somewhere in particular?"
She wondered what he wanted.

"I meant tomorrow," Finn said swiftly, still short-tempered, "good. Bring your sword, if you wouldn't mind, and if you can get some armor from the training yard, that wouldn't go amiss either."

"I will," she said. "But you must know I'm curious as to why you want to go about armed and armoured. That's not like you at all."
She reached for a jug of summerwine and poured for herself before asking "Want some?"

Finn shook his head declining the offer, "Bring a sword and armor, leave your curiosity." Finn said, "Okay?"

"Sure. I'll meet you at the tower gates in the morning then?"
But of course she was still wondering what was going on.

"Very good," he agreed.
