The King rode up on a white horse, and said, "Master Varner we are yours to command. Lead on good fellow."
Hugh rode next to the thing king.
As did Ser Cedric Brax.

"Somewhere there is a lion plotting his revenge for the thrashing I gave him last time," Finn replied to Tybalt with a grin, "I dare not leave him free to arrange a second attempt." He grinned, "That has always been my policy. Finn gave a half-bow from horseback toward the King. "Yes your grace. Be aware that we have two lions, that reside in a cave not far from here. We will, if we can try to take them outside the cave, for obvious reasons." Finn had already determined that he couldn't be paid do go back down into the dark again. And he wouldn't ask anyone else to go down there either.
"Anthony..." He said, "when the hounds are ready..." He gestured for them to proceed.

Anthony got the hounds underway.

"Does your grace have a passion for hunting?" Finn asked the King delicately, riding a few steps behind him, to avoid Ser Hugh's glare.

Mariya rode forward a bit. She was extremely nervous since the king was present and hadn't the faintest idea if she was even allowed to speak.

The King said, "I do... my favorite is Pheasant, but I think a lion not far more difficult. I killed a ram once. I think... it ran away, but I think my shot was a killing shot. At least that is what every one told me."
Hugh looked at Finn, "His grace is quite masterful."

Finn sighed. Perhaps a lion would accomplish what twenty assassins could not. But unlikely. It seemed Lord Commander Hugh would stay close enough to insure that.
Finn smiled at Mariya and turned back, "A pheasant is a much smaller target your grace. I am sure that if you can hit that, than the heart of a lion is a much easier shot to make. I were that my hand was as steady as yours seems." He nodded his head, leading with the facial scar to make the point.

The King looked at Mariya, and asked Finn, "We have not met her. What is her name?"

"Mariya Rowan your grace," Finn replied, gesturing for Mariya to ride forward and join them.

She clutched her bridle with shaking hands as she moved forward. She looked wide-eyed at Finn and then at the king and bowed as best she could from the saddle. But she thought it would be rude and ill-advised to speak before spoken to.

"Rowan... I have heard of that house." The King said, "I believe their sigil is a plow in the earth."

Finn paused slightly, unsure if his grace was making an implication, or merely mistaken as to his heraldry. He bite his lip and looked at Mariya.

"I beg your pardon but that's not our sigil, Your Grace," Mariya said. "Ours is the rowan tree, gold on a silver field."

The King chuckled, "I am truly dreadful at that. I can never keep them straight. Who is the plow?" He looked at Mariya.

"Um...House Crakehall, I think...no, Darry. House Darry of Castle Darry, in the Riverlands," she said. "There' a great many sigils, Your Grace. I learned as many as I could but I'm sure there's lots I don't know."
