My Name: Morrigan (an alias) Real name Fiona O'Mackey
My Concept: Neo-pagan witch who wants to overthrow the corrupt government
My Cutting Edge: A wand which emits a series of lights above the normal human visual range, which renders subjects susceptible to a brief form of hypnotic suggestion. Morrigan can wave the wand in a series of patterns to achieve a desired effect. The wand also reacts to speech. This results in people around her seeing a particular illusion depending on Morrigan's intentions at the time.
My Calling Card: A long green velvet cloak embroidered with golden pentacles.
My Dark Secret: Sent her boyfriend Sean to prison for practising Satanic rituals
My Appearance:
A small, slender woman, fine-boned. Considered moderately pretty but not beautiful. She tends to wear her long brown hair in a ponytail. Her clothing is usually a t-shirt and jeans, often ripped, sometimes a leather jacket depending on the weather. She also favours leather boots and sunglasses. She carries a small black handbag. A strigil is strapped to her calf under her jeans.
My Mortal Weakness: Has a weakness for small furry animals and will go out of her way to help rescue animals in need even when it means putting herself at risk.
My History:
Morrigan grew up in a city in the island formerly known as Ireland. Her parents lived fairly ordinary lives, her mother a teacher, her father a bus driver. Though Morrigan loved her family, she felt her childhood was stifled by the strict Catholic faith they practiced and longed to escape it. Seing her mother worn down by six pregnancies, she grew afraid of a future which featured marriage and motherhood and vowed to escape.
When Morrigan was fifteen, her escape came in the form of her boyfriend Sean, who introduced her to the world of neo-paganism. She lied to her parents, pretending she was off praying or studying when she was with her boyfriend. The relationship flourished in secret for two years until Sean revealed his interest in a Satanic sect and persuaded her to watch as the coven performed a Satanic ritual, only to freak out when they sacrificed a goat. She called the police, which resulted in Sean and his friends going to prison for several years.
Morrigan finished her final year at school, shaken from her experience with Sean, then began a boring job in an office. She had made friends in the neopagan community, including an old lady named Bridget, who acted as a surrogate grandmother and who had acted as a stage magician in her youth. Their friendship deepened and, when Bridget's health failed, she gave Morrigan her "wand" and showed her how to use it. Morrigan was thrilled with the gift but devastated when the old lady died. Then she learned that Sean and his friends were being let out of prison early. It was the final straw.
After a lifetime of seeing a corrupt government in action, and being oppressed by Catholicism in her private life, Morrigan knew she had to leave home, She quit her office job, dyed her hair and began travelling. She took on temporary work and supplemented her wages acting as a stage magician, but here she fell in with rebels who opposed the rule of government and realised that she too wished to see it overthrown. She has recently moved to Undercity in the hope of furthering her goals.
