Lymon says, "Come in." He is standing by the window staring out at the city silently as Maerys enters.

Maerys walks up and stands beside him,"Civilization, isn't it beautiful?"He looked out to the harbor, with its many boats, before sweeping a glance over the whole city.

"Why do you say that Maerys?" Lymon asked with out looking toward him. His own gaze was locked onto the citadel.

"Its order, and order is the way to happiness. Well that and morals." He followed Lymon's gaze to the citadel,"I might as well add knowledge to the list. Civilization is order, morality and knowledge." He put his fore arms on the ledge and looked down towards the base of the tower.

Lymon looked at Maerys, "What if what I enjoyed most was pushing dornismen from window so they went splat? Wouldn't my happiness run contrary to order, morality and knowledge?"

He frowned and moved a couple inches back from the ledge,"Not everyone fits into a plan, you always have to plan for abnormalities. That is why we have knights and guards, guards for when the problem is small and knights when it is big." His logic may be flawed, but at fourteen he thinks he has it figured out.

"Life is not a game Maerys." Then Lymon moved to his desk, "Have a seat." He sat down himself.

Maerys frowned, took one last look of the city and sat down,"Life isn't a game, but games do emulate life. Correct?"

"Have you seen that game young boy play where they do not step on the cracks in the stones." Lymon asked, "What does that emulate?"

Maerys gave Lymon a frank look, and then decided to be a smart ass."It is a metaphor for all the downfalls in life, you step on too many cracks and you lose. Just like in life, you fall into too many bad situations you are bound to trip up and lose."

Lymon smiled to himself, "And how does breaking your mother's back figure in to the situation?"

He shrugged,"Crippling depression from watching her son do bad things, a.k.a. stepping on cracks. Much like the straw that broke the auroch's back, to much and she falls to shambles." He sighed and shoved his hair out of his face,"You obviously didn't bring me here to make connections between children's games and the world around us."

"No that was the direction you took our conversation." Lymon responded.
