Lord Alphonse gave his steward a hearty slap on the back and grinned.
"I knew you'd be able to sort this for me Manfred. I'm willing to pay highly for this, but consult with me on the final cost before concluding any deal. If needs must and we find ourselves arranging an 'expedition', come and inform me of the requirements. Ser Ronald has already informed me that he is personally interested in seeing this come to fruition."
Manfred bowed. "As you say, my Lord." He shuffled out of the Lord's solar.
Alphonse chuckled to himself. "The whims of a wealthy Lord of Westeros."

Manfred arrives in the Florent town of Garthston, seeking out the travelling 'exotic' market that is said to have arrived this past week. He aims to speak with any trader who may be able to procure the hard-to-obtain merchandise Lord Alphonse requested.

The town of Garthston has a market, and three inns. The largest inn also holds the least guests for it caters to the rich. The Lilies and Bees is the more a tavern then inn, and is the favorite of the good townsfol. Hedgehog's Defiance is run a by a mysterious man, and is the cheaper inn by far. Most of the townsfolk go to the Hedgehog when they wish to get drunk alone.

Arriving in town after dark, Manfred stables his pony at the largest inn, The Bell.
This is where I'd stay the night were I a wealthy merchant, he thinks to himself. Although if I get a negative response here, the Hedgehog may throw up alternative solutions.
Having left the stables, he stops in his tracks and sighs. He looks to the inn's ornately carved doorway and heads inside.

The inn as usually is near empty. Only two patroons sit at tables, both are being served by two servants.
One is a balding man of very fine taste and clothing.
The other is a fat woman with a hairy lip.

Manfred sighs again.
Wasting no time he addresses the room.
"The Lord of these lands seeks a luxury merchant. Do any perchance know where one is to be found?"
His eyes flick around from the man, to the woman, to the servants, to the barstaff.

The fat woman laughes, "I sell luxury only by the keg load. If he is looking for Luxury in bales, he must turn somewhere else."

Receiving a negative response, Manfred bows and turns on his heel.
Half an hour later he enters the Hedgehog's Defiance.

The hedgehog is crowded, eight men in a corner are actively engaged in a loud dice game. Four mean sit singing along with the music of a pretty woman playing a harp. Every table was full with one, two or three people.

Manfred orders a pint of dark bitter at the bar. It smells strong and oaky, just the way he likes it.
When it comes to payment, he tips the barstaff to twice the value of the drink.
"I'm wondering if you could help me?" he asks.

The barman smiled, and said, "Of course... its me job."

"I'm here on behalf of Lord Florent - he's in the market for some rare luxurious goods. The sort that you don't generally find on a stall next to the turnips. Is there anyone here tonight who you think may provide me with interesting conversation?"

"You looking for a whore, my lord?" The man asked, "We have a few that would make your eyes spin."

"A whore? Um..."
He looked confused.
"No, not a whore."
He sighed with resignation at having to speak more bluntly. He does so, quietly.
"My Lord is looking to purchase an exotic creature. Do you know anyone here who may sell such things, or who may know someone else that can?"

"We'll leave the specifics for now," Manfred chided, "but yes, you're in the right melee field, just think a little closer to home. Any ideas?"
