Character Name: Baelor Stark

Character Description:

Baelor is a slightly wild looking young boy, with messy brown hair and grey eyes. He is of average height for his age, not having had his growth spurt yet, and is somewhat lanky.

Character Personal History:

Baelor was born at the end of the war to Lord Edric and Lady Taena Stark, their first son and heir. Already at an early age he was trouble, running off into the bowels of Winterfell and being a general nuisance. At age five he was sent to the Hightower to live with the many foster children of Lord Garnet, and it was there that Baelor flourished from a brat to friendly, if still wild, young boy.

Baelor enjoys spending time with his many foster siblings, usually leading some of them about in some game and he has the tendency to try and lord it over people. He often watches people train in the yard as well but has not yet expressed any interest in training there himself.

Character Name: Jothos Tully

Character Age: 16 (b. 382)

Character Nationality: Riverlander

Character Description:

Jothos, known as 'Foss' or 'Fossy' to his closest friends, is tall and thin with shoulder length wavy brown hair parted neatly at the centre of his forehead. His face is long and pointy, with large eyes of such dark a brown that they almost appear black. Above his top lip sits a fuzzy youthful moustache. He takes good care of his appearance and will rarely be seen publicly in an unclean or unkempt state.

Character Personal History:

Born the eldest son of the treacherous Lord Kevan Tully in 382, Jothos' childhood was spent almost entirely within Oldtown under the care of House Hightower. Sent from Riverrun at four years of age, the ancestral seat he will one day inherit is strange and unknown to him - a distant lump of grey stones in a cold, wet, far-off land.

The guiding hands of the Hightowers and their tutors have molded Jothos into a thoughtful, introspective young man - a lover rather than a fighter, a thinker rather than a do-er. That is not to say he is single-faceted - he always performed to an adequate standard in his martial training, but really came into his own in the more sedate lessons - mathematics, foreign languages, history. He is close friends with Lara Hightower, the two being of an age and of similar disposition, always sharing private jokes that some of the others just 'wouldn't get'.

Jothos' favourite pastimes include music and reading. He is also known as one of the Hightower's most formidable cyvasse players.

Character Name: Nymra Beesbury

Character Description:

Nymra, or Nym as she is known is slender and of regular height for her age. She has short blonde hair and big blue eyes, maintaining an innocent look most of the time. She is rarely seen without being a mess

Character Personal History:

Nymra was born just after the war finished to the Lord and Lady Beesbury, their first daughter and middle child. She is the easiest to get on with of all her siblings. She was sent to the Hightower at five, so that she could learn to get on with some others of her age and not of her family.

Through the years that she has been at the Hightower Nym has explored around the place, enjoying finding new ways to get herself into trouble, and normally others with her. She is more interested in finding new things out then she is in her lessons

Character Name: Willem Wyl

Character Age: 13

Character Nationality: Dornish

Character Description:

Willem Wyl is relatively short for his age with lean muscles. He has pitch-black hair that goes down to his shoulders and light green eyes.


Character Personal History:
Willem Wyl is the second son to the Lord and Lady Wyl. He was sent to the Hightower to be a Foster child when he was six and rarely goes to visit his own family. He mainly tries to keep to himself or in the accompany of the Maester at the Hightower learning about healing and poison or in the library reading.

[Gerold Frey]

Character Name: Gerold Frey

Character Age: 14 (b.384)

Character Nationality: Riverlander

Character Description:

Gerold is a slight youth of considerable height, with a pinched face and long, dark, ever-so-slightly greasy hair. His shoulders are narrow and he possesses no great strength, and his light grey eyes flicker around his surroundings as if he fears to be set upon at any turn. Though this speaks of a nervous ailment to some, to others it speaks of a wary cunning uncommon in such a young lad.

Character History:

House Frey is well known for their proliferate nature, and Gerold was one of many, many Freys - though of quite a superior bloodline, close to the inheritance of the crossing. He was constantly tormented by an elder cousin in his earliest years - them being resentful of Gerold's more prominent family line, and the young Frey's place ahead of him in the succession. Gerold's mother feared it may turn to actual violence against the poor young thing, so when she heard the Hightowers were interested in taking on more fosterlings, she was eager to send him there.

She worked on his father, who did not take much convincing. With all the Freys to look after at the crossing, having one less hungry mouth was not an opportunity to be missed. Besides, they considered, his being raised around other nobility may prove useful in the future.

At Oldtown, Gerold was a nervous child. He was always bookish, possessing a talent with numbers in particular. Fortunately for him, the scholarly atmosphere of the place - born of having the Citadel so very close by - nurtured his developing intellect, and though he didn't mix with the other children as much as he should have, perhaps, he was always eager to please. Many of them were certainly like family, after living so long together.

Character Name: Mariya Rowan

Character Age: 16 (b. 382)

Character Nationality: Reach

Character Description:

Mariya is a tall, slim girl, her body toned from hours spent in the saddle and with a blade in her hand. She has light red hair and blue eyes. Her skin is pale and freckles dust her cheeks. She had a wide, smiling mouth and a small nose.

Character Personal History:

Mariya was born during the war. Her father, Ser Mace Rowan, was second son to Lord Paxter, and both of them fought for Lord Tyrell., as did their kinsmen Ser Mace was killed in battle, after which Lord Paxter, changed his allegiance to Lord Hightower. When the time came to demand hostages, Lord Hightower demanded the four month old son of Lord Paxter's eldest son. But the heir's wife, Lady Alla, was a conniving woman who contrived instead to switch her son for her goodsister's daughter, Mariya, who was only two months older. So Mariya was sent off to the Hightower with her aunt, and her own mother was left at Goldengrove to care for her nephew.

Lord Hightower was angry when he discovered the deception but kept Mariya and her aunt as his hostages. Lady Alla remained until Mariya was four years old. By this time, Mariya was a sturdy little girl with no memory of her real mother and wept bitter tears at the departure of her aunt, as they had grown fond of one another.

As Mariya grew up, she had to bear the taunts of those who called her father and grandfather traitor and so she sought solace in the sept. She grew up with a particular devotion to both the Maiden and the Warrior, the first because she was a young girl and the second because her kinsmen were warriors and her father had died in battle. When she read tales of old, of the Warrior's Sons, she vowed that one day she would become a holy warrior herself. She dedicated herself to the art of swordplay and in learning to ride her horse, knowing she would need both skills in the future.

Though she rides openly, Mariya keeps her swordplay a secret known only to herself, her trainer and a few close friends. She has been known to disguise herself as a squire when needed but often she keeps up the pretence of the devout young lady.

[Rodrik Selmy]

Character Name: Rodrik Selmy

Character Age: 15 (b. 183)

Character Nationality: Stormlander

Character Description:

Rodrik is a boy of average height with light-brown hair, while his eyes possess a darker brown color. Despite his best efforts, his hair seems to be in a constant messy state. Rodrik's height coupled with his broad shoulders sometimes make him an odd sight, though his devilish smile makes up for it.

Character History:

Born the first son of the Lord of Harvest Hall, Rodrik was shipped away to the Hightower's by his father, who hoped that his son could make lasting connections with the other fostered children. In the years since he arrived, he has earned a rebellious reputation amongst some of the tutors. It seems he would rather explore the city of Oldtown or practice in the training yard than sit in a stuffy room with the Maester.

Character Name: Finn Varner

Character Age: 15 (b. 382)

Character Nationality: Reach

Character Description: A lanky body hides runner's muscles in this dark-haired boy's physique. Dark-searching eyes are the only sign betraying what otherwise appears to be a fidgety and nervous young man.


Character Personal History: There was a time when the name House Varner was whispered in dread, the very name synonymous with intrigue and, though spoken softly even by the boldest men, with murder. Under the rule of several powerful generations of Weasel Lords, the Varners ruled much of the Reach, as grey eminences guiding the hands of many "Greater" lords.

That time has long past. Finn's grandfather was a grasping man, with the deep ambitions innate to the Varner name, but none of the skill. Backing the Tyrells in the war was his first mistake, but not his last. The great keep of Stoatheart was torn down, Finn's father and grandfather executed for treason, a fate well deserved. The victorious Lord Hightower looked over the Varner children, and dismissed them all as imbeciles, and nervous wretches, until his eyes fell upon the youngest of the three sons, Finn. Something in the boy's eyes reminded Lord Hightower of something he'd seen in another man, long ago. This boy could not be permitted out of his sight.

Character Name: Gregor Corbray

Character Age: 16 (b. 382)

Character Nationality: Vale

Character Description:

Gregor is of average height and build, with light brown hair and blue eyes. He is not overly good looking nor is he ugly, his appearance is rather unremarkable though he tends to have a thoughtful expression on his face most of the time.

Character Personal History:

Lord Corbray followed Lord Arryn in support of the Tyrell rebellion. The unfortunate outcome threw the already poor house further into despair. Hoping to change his house's fortunes, Lord Corbray sent his second son, Gregor, to Lord Hightower as a fosterling in hopes of securing an alliance of sorts.

While Gregor enjoys riding and swordplay like most boys his age, he is more than likely to be found reading, studying, or tinkering. He is very interested in how things are made and why they function as they do, everything from a simple candle to articulated armor.

Gregor is generally personable though he does tend to get engrossed in his studies. He is easily distracted during instruction if the subject matter is not to his liking though fortunately his interests are numerous and varied. It is not unheard of for his mind to wander during conversations where his complete attention is not necessary.

Character Name: Leyton Florent

Character Age: 16 (b. 382)

Character Nationality: Reachman

Character Description:

Leyton was a short boy but has quickly become a tall and well-muscled young man. His skin is tanned from the many hours he spends outside and he prefers to let his dark brown hair fall to his shoulders. His mos strikin feature are his mismatched eyes; one blue and the other green.

Character Personal History:

Leyton is the oldest of his brothers and sisters, of which he has two and three respectfully. His parents, Lord Rodrick Florent and Lady Annabelle Fossoway, chose to foster he and his twin sister at Old Town when they were each six.

The two have spent much of their lives since learning from the Hightowers, only making brief visits back to their home. Being the heir to Brightwater Keep, Leyton has devoted much of his time to strategy and intrigue. But his true passion lies in the sword and lance, both of which he spends a healthy amount of time perfecting. When not training or in his lessons Leyton enjoys exploring the countryside surrounding Old Town from horseback, or dodging his way around the shadier parts of Old Town.

Character Name: Aaryn Sunglass

Character Age: 15 (b. 383)

Character Nationality: Crownlander

Character Description:

Aaryn is a tall and lithe fifteen year old. He keeps his straight black short, and his eyes are light brown. His face has a slightly triangular shape to it.

Character Personal History:

Aaryn is the second son of Lord Patrek Sunglass and his wife, Ella Buckwell. At the age of eight, he was sent to foster the Hightowers. His parents hoped that he would befriend several of the more influential children in the care of the Hightowers, but Aaryn, a quiet boy, did little to justify those hopes. He spends most of his time either training or visiting the Sept. He hopes to one day become a knight.

Character Name: Zachery Borrell

Character Age: 15 (b. 383)

Character Nationality: Vale (Sistermen)

Character Description:

Zach is a tall young man with short jet black hair. His muscles are already well defined for his age, but this is mostly due to the lack of body fat. His eyes are a cold blue, which normally makes northern sea farers he has encountered cautious of him.

Character Personal History:

Being the third child in a small household, Zach did not have the same easy childhood that his older siblings did. His jealousy and resentment of his brother and sister sent him into the docks of his Father’s island of Sweetsister. There he would steal and sabotage shipments coming into the island. Once his father eventually found out about his dealings, he asks Lord Hightower to foster Zachery.

That was when he was seven years old. Though Hightower has tried with all of his might, Zach continues to be a jealous little prick, and will sneak around and try and steal what he can, in order to get ahead of the rest in some way.

Character Name: Brandon Royce

Character Age: 16 b. 382

Character Nationality: Valeman

Character Description: Brandon is of a medium height but a stocky build gives the youth a edge in combat. With his brown hair and pale grey eyes.

Character Personal History:Born the second son of Lord Brynden Royce, Brandon grew up a simple life of a Valemen before his father left for war. He did not return. This made Brandons older brother Beric the lord of Runestone even though he was little more then a child. As the Royce family are major bannermen of the once rebellious Arryns Brandon was chosen to go to Oldtown to live.

As young Brandon grew the boy began learn the sword, the spear. To joust and how to ride a horse. Also being a follower of the Old Gods the young man always felt out of place amongst most of the other fosterlings.

Character Description:

Dany is a beautiful girl with long dark auburn hair and brown eyes. She is of average height and has a slender figure.

Character Personal History:

Born the third child of the late Lord Tyrell, Dany never knew her family as she was shipped off to Oldtown at the age of two. Both her older brothers, Dustin and Dale were killed off in the war, rendering her the Tyrell heir. During her 13 years of stay, she's never been allowed to visit Highgarden, which is currently ruled by her uncle. Despite being raised as the traitor's daughter, she thinks highly of herself and her house.
