"Perhaps. Widow's Watch is quite far from the Mountains; though it is never a fault to remember where you've come from," he remarked. "Now that the tournament has come to its end, I imagine most will have little reason to stay. I am surprised so many from the North have come south at all, times being what they are."

"What times is that exactly?" Alfyn asked.

Patrek's mouth curled at the sides. "Dark times," he answered. "And darker to come. What are the Starks words? Winter is coming."

Tormund sniffed, "I don't need no Riverlander telling me milord's words." He said. Wyman put his hand on his son's shoulder.
"Explain yourself Frey, or begone and trouble us not with nonsense."

Patrek raised his hands. "Forgive me if I have mispoken. Though certainly you can see that both Dorne and the North hold our young King and arms length.
"This generation of men are nothing if not blood thirsty, and they are without their blood. The ferocity of the melee demonstrated that. It is no wonder I have not seen any Martells or Starks here in the Capital."

"Perhaps they just didn't feel like sitting around and watching Lion and Eagle attempt to outdo each other " Tormund replied. "Quite sensible of them, seems to me."

"Perhaps you are right. I hope you are," Patrek replied. "None the less, one should hope for the best and plan for the worst. Should I ever seek a capable mind in the North, I will keep you in mind, Lord Wyman. Enjoy the rest of the feast," he said looking to each in turn.

The Flints nod grudgingly as Frey departs.
"Well, that was rather odd," Alfyn sums up. They go back to feasting.

"True enough, the Dornish are woefully ill-equipped at sea, although I should say the same of all Andals with the exception of your men of the Arbor. The Lannisters build fleet after fleet in their port city, only to see them smashed, captured, or sunk, and yet they never learn," he replied with a wolfish grin. "I'll give you your Iron Fleet," Ranulf acknowledges, "But your piddling little raiding longships? Any proper galley can smash one of those to pieces on the high seas."

Summer smiled at Helyn, "Well hello Helyn's cousins." she said. Renly's eyes widened at the girl's beauty. He extended a hand to Summer. "Charmed." he replied. Jenna also greeted Summer warmly. Iolande made no overture of friendship apart from a brief nod.

Summer smiled at Renly, smiled again at Jenna, which faded immediately upon reaching the second girl.
"You tried to steal my friend away from me," she said, clicking her tongue with disapproval, "leave me to my own devices in this dreadful setting."

Renly smiled back, entranced by the beauty of the girl, but not overrawed.
"We certainly had no intention of doing that." he said. "Surely you do not begrudge us a family reunion of sorts. Small as it is."
He made a show of looking around.
"Yes it is dreadful isn't it? The wall hangings are appalling." he joked, knowing at the same time what she really meant.

"I would hardly say fearsome," Triston said with a grin. "In battle, perhaps, but not here. Arthur has always favoured more sober dress, though, and he's tall for a Dornishman. so I suppose he has more claim to being fearsome than most of us." Arthur shrugged. "The gods gave me height and I dress to please myself. I don't care if I am fearsome or not." "It's all to the good," Eleyna said. "The Champion of Ghost Hil should not be a fop. Lord Alaric, you are far too kind. I am perhaps not as bold as Queen Nymeria - my mother has a better claim to that role, I believe - but the compliment is most welcome. If this is the nature of Vale chivalry, I would be pleased to meet more of your kind. We've mountains near our own lands, as it happens so although they doubtless look a bit different, I'm sure I would feel quite at home if ever I saw the Vale." "Will I would love to show you it if you would like. I leave within the week and shall be taking a ship Gulltown and then onto my home."

"Quite," replied Summer dryly. "And I recommend you keep your sisters well away from Clegane. He's swordmanship is far better than his manners."

"His 'swordsmanship' eh? replied Renly with laugh."My 'swordmanship' has not had any critics as far as I'm aware."
"I'll be sure to take your advice. Though my elder sisters don't listen to me at all."
