"That statement is patently untrue my lovely guest. If you are here to try and convince me that this opening of trade means the same to Lannisport as it does to Barrow town, you can leave by the front door now." Piers replied with a chuckle.

Lady Dustin joined him in laughter. "It would not mean the same to both ports, even if the trade created in both is the same." She grinned a bit, "But as they say, a rising tide lifts all boats." She held out her left hand, "It's true that here in Barrowton, we have but 50 gold dragons." She lifted the other hand, "And at Lannisport you have 1000 gold dragons. Now consider, if in both hands we place another 100 dragons. It may mean more to Barrowton, but Lannisport is surely not unhappy with those 100 new dragons."
She smiled again, "Think, milord Master of Coin, of all the trade that Lannisport could stand to gain. It would not just be ships leaving from Lannisport... Ships carrying wine from the arbor or goods from Old Town which do not pass through Lannisport today would now make a stop as their masters track the coast north to try to exploit the new opportunities previously impossible."

Piers nodded, "Then we both agree with the principle that Barrowtown needs this, while Lannisport simply benefits from it." He raised an eyebrow, "And when there is disparity in demand, then there needs to be a bridge. Do you know how to build a bridge Lady Dustin..." He tilted his head, "I am sorry, I grow bored of using your title, I am Piers, and you are?" He sat down, and pulled a plum from his jacket, and motioned for her to sit as well.

"Bethany." She replied, sitting. She didn't know why she continued on, "I'm a Blackwood. A cousin to Horas." She grinned a little, "In the Riverlands we often find ourselves building bridges. And even in my adopted home we have two. Fancy that."

Piers chuckled, "In the west we just dig for gold. It is a mind set there too I suppose." He winked, "Was it a sharp change moving from the Riverlands to the North?"

She tilted her head to one side. "It's cold in Barrowton, but not so cold as parts further north. The strangest thing was how few people. Vast lands and you could sometimes walk a day without seeing another. That was the hardest part."

Piers smiled, "I would miss people too much to function. If I am not talking, flirting, or joking I begin to slowly go mad." He winked, "I think you take after my own heart."

Daryn Dustin shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Bethany looked back at him evenly, "It was an adjustment, but it is my home, and I have made a good life there."

Piers nodded, "I have too made a new home for myself among a family I came to love. They say that love is always stronger then one forged by chance or luck. Choosing a new love makes it all the stronger. Would you not agree?"

She nodded back at him. "With that I can agree fully, Piers."

Piers smiled enjoying himself, "Then you will understand why I fight for every silver and copper for my Lord. He is like my father and deserves the best from me in every negotiation."

"If you believed anything less, it would be a true shame." She replied.

Piers chuckled, "Then you must understand why Lannisport will need more then just trade with Barrowtown to risk the reavers in the Iron Islands."

She tilted her head to one side, "What is Lannisport's risk milord? They will not strike there because trade travels North. They may take some of the ships, but that is the trader's loss and risk is it not? In any case, if we do not manage to secure the Ironborn's interest and cooperation in this, the whole venture would be folly."

Piers looked at her, "I am not even sure what you are truly asking for? Lannisport is open to trade from anywhere."
