Wyman grunted, "She is. A beautiful lady. You apologize easily, that leads me to question your sincerity. Will it be accompanied by any restitution or am I to be satisfied with easy words?"

She kept the smile on her face though she was irritated by his words.
"You forget that it was not I who wronged you. Mark was not acting with my blessing, or in the name of our house. If you desire restitution to be made, I am willing to discuss it. Answer me one question though, if you will. Did Mark actually lay with your daughter, with our without her permission?"

"No, but what does her permission have to do with it? The insult is to my house. Does this man NOT have your protection? If he does not, tell me, and I will apologize for disturbing you with this, and I will address the matter with him directly." Wyman growled.

"He is my son," Viviane stated. "I love him and I would like to protect him from all harm, as is my duty as a mother, but I would not attempt to shield him from the consequences of his actions if he is shown to be in the wrong. What about your daughter? Does she demand restitution? Since she is the offended party, I would suggest she be the one to say if she would rather let the matter lie or no. I will be content with her answer, and then you and I may decide what is to be done."

"It is MY family name your son attempted to sully with his antics. He has insulted my entire house. I will not allow you to drag my poor daughter into the front and center, and embarass her further," he raged, his face turning a very bright red, "So I ask you again, does your family stand for this behavior? Or is he is own man?"

Garlan's attention, as if sensing conflict, is drawn to the dispute between the Northern Lord and the Dornish Lady. He walked closer, but far enough away as to no attract attention.
Lord Rickard ignored it, and still made way for Lord Royce at his own pace.

There was only one thing for Viviane to do. Mark had been a fool, so he must pay for his actions. House Toland could not be seen to condone his behaviour.
"You mistake my intentions," she said softly. "I did not wish to embarrass your daughter. I sought only to consult her feelings, ad I would wish to be consulted in her place. But you are right, I do not condone my son's behaviour. Ity seems he is a greater fool than I thought him. Let us discuss how he may make amends for his behaviour."

Ser Gruffydd stands near the door, waiting to be greeted by Lord Royce who appeared to be engaged with other guests. His eyes moved slowly over the Keep's Great Hall, taking in everyone present. He did not recognize the majority of the sigils worn on clothing, though he recognized Lord Mallister's silver eagle, and of course the runed bronze of the Lord Regent himself.
He could tell that a number of men present were from the north, by their dress and coloring, and that a number were Dornish, but he could not say from where in those two countries the people he viewed came. He noticed a burly greybeard who appeared rugged, even for a northerner, in an animated conversation with a tall Dornish woman, and he watched with a slight interest, while he waited to be greeted by the host.

"Nobody shares much love with the Dornish," Garlan, who was standing nearby Ser Gruffydd, proclaimed.
He looked sideface at the Ironborn, whom he'd noticed sharing interest in the dispute.

"Dornish" he spat. "The men are all buggerers and the women are all whores," he said venomously. "I do not see how they can call themselves true followers of the Seven. And their coastlines are as bare as the rest of their shit-hole country, more's the pity, or we should have burned them out long ago."
"Ser Gruffydd of Harlaw," he added laconically.

Flint relaxes somewhat, and his color returned to normal, "I am pleased to hear it. What would you offer in recompense? I assume you'd prefer some material compensation to taking it out of the boy's hide?"

Ser Tomas turned when he heard the Ironborn say what he did. "Do you want to say that to my face?" he asked, face impassive, but venom in his voice. "Because the Iron Islands are such a thriving place, it's no wonder you all fuck off to sea. Drowning would be preferable no doubt."
Behind him Myriah looked on with big scared eyes, and tried to pull him to turn him round again, but was shrugged off.

Viviane shook her head.
"I don't mind paying you if it's what you wish, but Mark will not learn the lesson in full if it is I who must pay the restitution. He takes his coin from my own coffers. after all. Would a little of both be serviceable?"

"If you wish to force him into pay his own coin, that'd fine as well. The girl wasn't sullied physically, so we can be reasonable. Let us say six hundred stags?" He asked.

"I said, 'All Dornishmen are buggerers, and all Dornish women are whores,'" he replied simply, meeting the eyes of the man who spoke. "The Islands thrive for certes, because their men are strong enough to take what the land does not provide. I imagine the concept of strength is unknown to the Dornish, who cower behind your mountains when war comes to the greenlands."
