Hearst led them into the swamp, using his staff to check each pool for depth before moving on. Soon they had reached a pool so deep he could not find the bottom. He looked at the cliff wall, and said, "Can you blokes use the wall to evade the puddle here?"

Domeric checked the wall, nervous that it would crumble, or otherwise give out.

The wall looks climbable, but to avoid the muck it is a twenty foot climb sideways.

Domeric sighed, "Alright then, "let's see if this do-able." He said. He reached out and put his hands on the wall, finding good purchase before stepping up to place his feet on it as well.
He began to inch his way over, clinging to the rock face as best he could.

Domeric's foot slipped once, but he held on with his hands.
Hearst leaped onto the wall right behind Domeric, "I am suppose to lead."

"I thought you were waiting to see the Crow fall before showing us how its done." Domeric chuckled, clinging desperately to the wall, and advancing another foot ever so cautiously.

Domeric eventually made it across.
Terigon follows quickly, and scales it behind Hearst.
At the Same moment Hearst dropped to the ground, theres a squeak of panic, and then Terigon falls into the muck disappearing below.

"Throw a rope!" Domeric says, futilely. He did not expect that the bog would return the man.

A rope was thrown in. And it goes taut. The other black brothers slowly pull on the rope until it comes back out free. No man still holds to it.

Domeric sighed, They'd be sure to lose others before this journey ended.

"C'mon you poxy bastards," Domeric hollered back, "This is the way! You're only other choice is into the knives of those men atop the cliff! Men of the Night's Watch are not afraid of a little climbing, we walk atop 400 feet of pure slippery ice. Now get over here."

There was a scream from behind and Domeric, and then a gurgle. Hearst stumbled to the ground with a spear through his neck.
Two men in gold masks and furs stood on the same side of the bog as Domeric, one had a silver spear, and the other stood unarmed now.

Domeric drew his sword and put it in the high guard. He stepped forward quickly, to stand in front of Hearst's body, so that the man could not rearm himself.

The two men looked at Domeric, "Black blood return to the wall." The men both pointed south.
