"He is," Hugo confirms, "A good lad."

"Ah, good, good," Lord Florent replies, somewhat distractedly.
"Anyway Hugo," he says through a thin smile, "I shall leave you for now. You must be tired from your journey. Please, make yourself at home."
He bows deeply and turns to leave.

"My thanks for your hospitality," Hugo says, already beginning to settle into his quarters.

The following day arrives, overcast and humid. The musty smell of warm, damp earth fills the air around Brightwater as preparations are made for a large hunting party. Tens of hounds mill about the courtyard, seemingly excited and full of energy as the kennelmaster vainly attempts to keep them under some sort of control.
Despite his daughter's protestations, Lord Florent had forbidden her from attending the hunt. His heir would be in attendance however, primarily serving Lord Redwyne, as befits a squire.
Whilst he awaits the arrival of his honoured guest Lord Redwyne, Lord Alphonse chats lazily with his bodyguard, Ser Ryan Norcross, about the condition of the horses and hounds.

Lord Redwyne rides over to the party. He is the type of person who prefers standing on a deck to riding a horse, but he sits in the saddle well enough for a man of his age and bulk. He is in his usual good mood.
"Wonderful day for a hunt," Hugo says enthusiastically, "What are we pursuing? Stag? Boar?"

"It is isn't it? Great going. We'll be hunting stags predominantly, but I'm sure we'll run up against lesser game ripe for the taking. I'd like to bring home at least a couple of plump, juicy birds for the feast tonight. I'll ask Weynon to cook them up in some of the casked Red you brought over. Lovely."
Walking over to his chestnut horse he steps one foot into the stirrup and throws himself up into the saddle.
"A horse for Lord Redwyne!" he calls.
Steffen Florent also clambers ahorse.

"You're making me hungry," Hugo says. He is already ahorse, and spurs eagerly ahead. Once they reach the edge of the forest, he slows his horse to a walk.
"If only we could just hunt and eat and drink, and not have to worry about anything else," Hugo sighs. He turns to look at Lord Florent. "It would be nice, wouldn't it? But sometimes I feel like the Reach is getting less friendly these days, and there are matters which a lord needs to attend to."

As the hunting party prepares to leave, a small group of riders are seen riding for Brightwater Keep. The five men slows their horses as they near the hunting party, and their leader rides forth while the others wait on a distance.
Ser Bransen Fossoway bows his head deeply as he stops in front of Lord Alphonse and Lord Hugo.
"I would like to offer our deepest apologies for arriving so late to your invitation, my lord." he says and looks at Alphonse, before offering a smile to his uncle-in-law . "I was away on business in King's Landing as I recieved my uncle's letter telling me of your invitation to your daughter's nameday."

Still, I am sure we will discuss these matters at great depth. Let us on with the hunt!" As they prepare to set off the Fossoway party approaches. Florent hears Ser Bransen's apologies and laughs. "I was beginning to fear House Florent had slipped in the estimations of House Fossoway! Forget about your tardiness, you are here now and that is all that matters. We are to set off on the hunt." Florent calls out for someone to accompany Ser Bransen to his quarters. A young man responds. "After Ser Bransen is comfortably unpacked, send him out with Henwick - tell him to catch up with us. We shall be headed out towards Brussex Rill." The young man nods his assent and beckons for Ser Bransen to follow him. "Be swift Ser Bransen, and we shall see you soon!" Lord Florent kicks his spurs into his horse and the hunt begins.

Lord Hugo spurs after his host, laughing. "I'll bet you five gold dragons I take the first stag, Alphonse," he shouts.

Not long after the two lords had ridden off, Ser Bransen and Henwick catched up with the hunting party, though there were another with them this time, whom Lord Hugo and Lord Alphonse knew to be the man's uncle, Ser Bernard.
The men rode up to the party and smiled.
"So who's up for a little wager?" Ser Bernard said with a smile and looked at the hunting party and his nephew. "I bet you ten dragons that my nephew here will be the first to take down our prey."

Alphonse laughed.
"Lord Hugo here has already placed five dragons on it being him. Prepared to up the ante Hugo? Let's make it fifteen. Each. Winner takes thirty."

Ser Bernard grinned as Ser Bransen shifted uncomfortable in his saddle.
"I guess you have yourself a wager, Lord Alphonse. Now we just need to know if Lord Hugo wants in on it or not." he said and looked at his sister's husband.

Hugo laughs. "I never miss an opportunity to make easy money. Of course I'm in!"

Ser Bernard smiled.
"This sounds like this is going to be one interesting hunt, my lords." he said and grinned at his nephew who sighed deeply.
