Callen laughed, "They were seeking me out. Do you know how many daggers in the night I have had to put down. Some disguised as children, and women. My enemies use weapons that are subtle and masked... I can no longer take any chances." He studied Mandon, "Even now I have trouble trusting any I speak with."

"Your foes have no honor, aye, on that we can agree," Mandon says. "If you are looking for proof of my loyalty... well, you'll have to decide that for yourself. I fought for your father in the last war, I'll say that."
"But I'm no one special. We Stonecrabs aren't a strong house or even an old one. But if you decide to trust me, I can get you into contact with someone who does have influence." He pauses for a moment, frowning. "What happened to your eye?"

Callen replied, "I have much trust for a man of house Stonecrab, but few ways of verifying if that is truly your name and house." He paused a moment, "My eye was injured during my adventures in the east, and healed poorly."

"Not sure how I'd go about proving I'm me," Mandon says. "My ship is in the harbor. King Crab. I suppose if I were an impostor, I could've stolen it off the real Mandon Stonecrab... but I didn't."

Callen waved that away, "There is no way to prove who you are, so you tell me why you are here, and then I can decide if the risk is worth taking."

"I came here to find you, Your Grace. Didn't expect to find you in this city, but here we are. I represent a man who'd see the rightful king restored to his throne. He doesn't have the power to do that... not today, and probably not next year either. But before he sticks his own neck out for the headsman, he wants to meet you. Make sure that justice will be done if you come into your throne."

Callen nodded, "Does this man wish to sail his ship here to met with me?"

"He is already nearby," Mandon replies.

Mandon pauses, his gaze passing over the king's entourage. "I do not know these men. Or this woman." He states.

"You must not think me much of a King. You can not bow to a king, and then pick and choose which orders to obey." Callen replied.

Mandon nods slowly, though he is still frowning. It struck him as the first kingly thing the Baratheon had said. "Aye... you are right. A man who kneels to his king cannot pick and choose. He must obey all orders, else he is as faithless as the man who obeys none. But as much as I served your father, I have not sworn fealty to you yet, Your Grace, and I do not trust these foreigners you have with you. I will not announce my friend's identity to a room of strangers."

Callen stood, and waved his hand. The men and women stood slowly, and moved away until the were out of earshot, and mostly out of sight.

Mandon nods. Once the others are out of earshot, he says, "House Redwyne. One of the lord's sons is here to negotiate for his father."

Callen raised an eyebrow, "Has he grown tired of the Lion tending to the garden?" His tone was droll, and unmoved.
