Mors nodded. "Well, dangerous times. We must all look to our lands if the wildlings have infiltrated so. And we must look north as much as south it would seem. I will keep you best appraised of what I find. Though, I'm not sure how best to communicate with you in the mountains."

"Messengers are best, but only Flints know the way to my gate," Brandon said, shrugging as if to say, "And that's just the way it is."

"That was my concern exactly. So then the solution is to have reason for a supply of Flints, if you'll excuse the expression, at Barrowton so that they may be sent when needed." Mors stroked his beard. "This would be best done either by taking a Flint to foster at Barrowton or a Flint woman to wed someone at court. My youngest brother Bowen is unmarried."

"My son Ryam's daughter Osha is unwed. She was betrothed before, but after several delays, the boy broke it off." Brandon shrugged again and then smiled wickedly, as if to suggest Mors would prefer not to know what happened to the fellow after that insult.
"At any rate she's eighteen name-days, but good hips and healthy. Flint girls almost always conceive healthy, early or late."

"Bowen is a man grown, and south to King's Landing for the tourney now, but when he returns I shall confirm that he will accept the match." Mors smiled a bit proudly, "He won the melee, smiting all the Southrons about him. He's a good man, if a little rough about the edges."

"Rough is good," Brandon replied, "Smiting Southrons is better. This shall be a good match." He stretched his hand out to shake on the matter.

Mors took the hand. "We can make additional arrangements once Bowen has returned from King's Landing."

"Very good. In the mean time, Why do we not send Osha and some men back with you, to carry messages if needed, and to meet your family?"

"A good idea," Mors replied. "When this business is done, I will take her back to Barrowton with me."

Brandon snapped his finger at Ramsey Flint, "Fetch Osha, and a few men, and hurry back here." He said. Ramsey nodded, and disappeared, to prepare for departure.
