After a great deal of searching he found Lady Stark in her chambers with her two children. She was playing with the little girl who seemed to sense the mood of the keep.

"My lady," Danny said softly... "I've... made some inquiries."

She looked up at him, and smiled, "Yes... and?" She stood straight, and took her daughters hand. Then seeming to realize, "Let us discuss this in the hall. Tilly watch the children."

Danny followed her into the hallway, and found a small quiet alcove.
"I...spoke with Lady Anya, before she passed away. She claimed that a messenger of Lord Umber's did the killing. I... I can't say as to that. I did investigate, and there is some reason to believe that this messenger may have already left Winterfell before the attack began. Your guards searched for the man, but did not find him." Danny cleared his throat.
"There are still questions unanswered. But I can learn nothing more at this point. You must call milord's bannermen, so that they may choose a regent for the young lord. They can decide how best to proceed."

Lady Stark nodded, "I have written a summons. I just had not decided when to send it... I.... This is unimaginable." She squeezed her hands into fists, and shuddered.

Danny sighed softly and nodded, "It is a crime difficult to comprehend, but I suppose it must be faced milady. Are there some bannermen you trust more then others? Men you met perhaps at the wedding that you have faith in? We can send for them first, before others arrive so that they can speak to you and best see to your interests before the others arrive."

"Just Lord Dustin... and your own family." I spoke with many others though."

"My sister's husband, Lord Benjen is a Dustin on his mother's side," Danny confirmed, "They are good people. Call for them to come, and I will send for my own father to advise you as well. Then summon the others." Danny suggested.

Lady Stark nodded, "That is well... please stay Danny... my husband's master of arms, and Castellan are both to the North dealing with wildling Raids."

Danny frowned, "someone must take the message to my lord father milady, and we have no maester in the mountains."

Danny reentered the hall, bringing with him his father, and the other eight or so Flints who had traveled south.

Lord Deringer Manderly stood by his daughter's side. He smiled at Flint, "Who are you?"
Lady Stark looked at her father sharply, but remained quiet.
