The Maester nodded slowly, and mixed together a drink for her, and dribbled it between her lips.

Danny approached one of the knights standing around, "This Umber messenger, do you know the one she speaks of? He should be found, if he's still in the keep."

The Knight nodded, "He came in yesterday." He motioned for some men to follow him and hurried from the room. The other men in the room all pushed out after.

"Maester, these cuts... One man did this, and to Lady Stark as well at the same time?" Danny asked, "Does that seem likely to ya?"

"Its possible... I suppose. Just the one cut to Lady Stark... and then a whole series of thrusts into Benjen.... clearly he was the one that needed killin."

"But Lord Stark was strong enough to make it all the way to the great hall, but never landed a blow in his defense?" Danny asked, shaking his head. "Don't make no sense to me, and I've stuck a person or two," he says. Looking at the maester and frowning, "All fair fights... mostly."

The maester seemed confused, "How did Lord Stark not land a blow?"

"Yes," Flint replied, "Some of them died easy, as I've stabbed. But those as died hard, as Lord Benjen did. They fought. They screamed and scratched and bite. I'll believe that perhaps Lady Anya or Lord Benjen were taken by surprise, but not both. Someone ought to 've fought back... Unless. In some manner they were BOTH surprised? But how?"

"A friend?" The Maester said, "Or from the back perhaps?"

From the back didn't make much sense from Danny's perspective, but it was definitely a friend. And Danny did not think an Umber messenger qualified.
He decided to search the room, lest there was something he overlooked. Of particular concern was perhaps a second weapon, whether Lord Benjen's, or perhaps from another attacker.

Lord Stark's knife was found under the bed. Nothing else seemed out of place.

Danny looked at the knife? Was there any evidence of use, or was it clean and it had simply been knocked from his hand and gone skittering under the bed? Danny considered the matter carefully, and then approached the turned over chair. Had someone been sitting here, when the attack began? Perhaps the assassin had knocked it over lunging at his target?

The knife handle has some blood on the handle. Some one could have been sitting in the chair. He notices there is a map of the North on the table covered with blood.

Danny grunted, then stood and looked down at the map, trying to work out what was displayed.
As he pondered the issue, he gazed over at Lady Anya, for signs that she had passed.

She no longer breathed. The bulk of the map is covered in blood, but both the wester, and eastern coastlines show in spots.
