No she's not, a cadet branch rules Tarth; Aegon's kids were either killed or packed off to the Starry Sept/Citadel.

Really? I could have sworn I asked Smith if Lady Tarth was Aegon's daughter and he said yes! Oh well, not like it matters.

One day, however, he met a man that was forever known to him as "Helm" that took him in and trained him in both the ways of music and assassination. When asked why, Helm only responded "You remind me of a former student", obviously referring to the infamous Jakar Vaaqui, who had been hung by the Lannisters years ago. At age 18, he was dumped back on the streets from whence he came, but now with the means to live as he had always dreamed. For four years, he traveled throughout the land, making a name for himself in both the criminal underground, and in the castles of the high lords.
7) Character Physical Description: Standing just short of six feet tall, he is very slender, yet well muscled. His hair extends just past his shoulders in a blond ponytail, and his eyes shine a piercing blue that has charmed many a lady in waiting. A short sword hangs at his left side, and three long knives at his right, with various other small blades scattered about his body. Despite his appearance as a traveling bard, he knows all the mannerisms expected in various courts throughout the land. When on horseback, he is often seen with three cases sticking out of his saddlebags, one for each of the instruments he mastered.
8) Character Reputation: Known for his quick and efficient killing, he has carved a name in the underground as a master assassin. Outside, he is well known for his mastery of the flute, harp, lute, and his incredible charm. He has many interesting habits, including locking and unlocking doors three times (save for when he's breaking and entering), consuming whole cloves of garlic from the personal stash he has collected over the years, and randomly staring off into space for no apparent reason.

This is my first character attempt. Please let me know if anything needs to be changed. The part I'm most uncertain of is the whole "regent" part. I want to demonstrate that this character is making decisions on behalf of a ruler who's too young to take over, but I don't know if the term regent only applies to king regents, or if it can apply to lesser lords too. Does anyone else know? Thanks for all your help getting to know the site, by the way. Everyone was really helpful!
1) Character Name: Lady Nieve Glover
2) Character Age: 22
3) Character Nationality (Stormlands, The Reach, etc): The North
4) Character Byname: N/A
5) Character Skills (Choose 2 beginner skills, 2 novice skills, 2 apprentice skills, and 2 noteworthy skills and 1 expert skill):
Expert – Political Intrigue Noteworthy - Espionage Noteworthy - Archery Apprentice - Poisoning Apprentice – Short-blades Novice – Long-blades Novice- Charm Beginner - Dancing Beginner –Singing
6) Character Personal History: Nieve was born at Deepwood Motte to Lord Eraydes and Lady Natalie Glover (Formerly Lady Natalie Mallister). Despite her Lord Father's obvious desire for a male heir, complications during her mother's childbirth made the conception of further children impossible between her parents. Following from the loss of hope for a son, Eraydes Glover raised his young daughter much as a father would raise a son. She learned the arts of hunting and combat over the more feminine skills of sewing and courtessy. It was, in some part due to this atypical upbringing that Nieve found herself involved in an improper extramarital affair with a low ranking knight during her late adolescence. Indeed, the young Lady Glover found herself with child at the tender age of sixteen at which time she was immediately hidden away by her father for the duration of her pregnancy. Despite all of her parents best efforts, however, rumours abounded. When her son Ravinder was born, her mother was quick to claim the boy as her own, and thus improvised an heir to Deepwood Motte. Nieve fought to continue her relations with the young knight, but prevent her from doing so her father sent her to Seaguard to live with her maternal first cousins, though she returned to Deepwood Motte at the age of twenty when her father fell ill. In his last hours Eraydes confessed to Nieve that he would not stand to see a whore or her bastard son rule over Deepwood Motte, and disinherited her; unfortunately for Lord Glover he made this confession in private, and died immediately after in a purely coincidental death with shared some symptoms of a death by poison. Nieve had just turned twentyone, and barely a year afterward, her mother Natalie was found dead, apparently by her own hand in the woods nearby. Now at the age of twenty two, she aims to become the legal regent to her "younger brother" aged six, Lord Ravinder Glover of Deepwood Motte.
7) Character Physical Description: Nieve is of a slightly greater than average height, perhaps five feet and seven inches. Her hair is an icy blonde color, and her eyes are an uncommonly dark brown. Her body is of an average build, though her arms are strong and toned by her work in archery, which is a great hobby. Her skin pale.
8) Character Reputation: Nieve had a reputation during her adolescence as a bighearted, exuberant girl with a great deal of energy and enthusiasm for life, as well as a well endowed sense of humor, though she had been quite close with her late parents (her father especially) and their deaths have taken a huge emotional toll on her. Rarely in the last year has her past cheerfulness broken the surface of her mourning.

I would recommend checking the Mallister connection with Smith though, as there have been some issues with that house.

Just one thought, Espionage is generally used like the skill for spying, assasinating, stealth etc., it kind of jumps out of me as being odd for a Lordlings daughter (Unless she killed her mom and dad ). Nothing wrong with having it but unless you see her scrounging around dark alleys you may want to rearrange things a bit. Deception might be a good skill if you want her to be able to lie and arrange deceit. You might also want persuasion if your going to want to convince NPC's to do something although its still heavily dependent on your plan. Just wanted to make sure that you were getting what you paid for. Its also a bit odd for a woman to be Regent, so you may want to think about how that came to be. It could be a really good jumping off point for RP if your first adventure was a trip to the King's court to get Manderly to agree to make you Regent. A mourning girl from the North headed to the big city to get her Lord Paramount to agree to let her be Regent. Could be an interesting plot and get you involved with other characters. Just my 2 cents feel free to ignore it

I'm with Kenneth on the regent story, sounds fun.
Also, while there's nothing wrong with you having Espionage per se, it does probably make more sense for her to have Political Intrigue, which is the skill that governs more hands-off approach to spying and such, and then have a second who has Espionage.

Maekar, she took Political Intrigue as her expert skill. You may have meant Deception and Persuasion Skill which are kind of new social skills. I'd reccommend taking both maybe over dancing and singing which are just flavor and maybe moving poisoning down, unless you have a plan to poison a lot of people It's your character though, so do what you want. After my reading of your story I kind of imagined her as this poor girl whose parents died but then she has a lot of combat skills so maybe she was a bit tom-boyish which probably is not uncommon for the North. For some reason I was getting all these plot ideas reading your story so feel free to use or ignore these: -There is a big age disparity between her and her younger brother (16 years which would be like her mother having her when she was 16) and her brother when she was 32. So that could be an interesting background point. If she is the only child before the brother then maybe her father treated her like the son he never had. - Could be that her mom was sick for a long time and when she got well her parents conceived her brother. - Could be that her brother is only a half brother, and she was jealous of her step mom and poisoned her (explain the poison and the espionage skill) -Could be that the boy is actually her son and the family hid the fact to avoid embarrasment and allow her to still marry according her station. -Your second could be the boy's father a handsome rogue or a knight in service to your father or something. -You may also want to think why she is not married at 22, while not old for Today's standards is getting up there in Westerosi standards. Please don't feel like you have to change anything I just thought your background was interesting and to throw our ideas so you make a character that you'll love to play. Also would Glover follow the Seven or the Old Gods? There could be some interesting tension there since Manderly follows the Seven.
