"I will attempt to arrange it, though I know Steffon to be a stubborn man. Had he sought out cooperation with Lord Wyl in the first place, this situation may never have arisen."

"That would be most appriciative, I will send mother a letter as well telling her what we are about to do, she is still the Princess of Dorne after all."

"Of course. How does she fare? I understand she has taken ill."

"She is getting better, I am sure she is back to her old self as we speak" he said with a smile.

He is let inside.
Trystane sits at a table, eating some dinner as Maekar is shown inside by Ser Andros. He looked a bit suprised as Maekar entered.
"Welcome Prince Maekar, I guess you are here to tell me that Lord Steffon told me to stuff the proposal where the sun don't shine?"

"The opposite, actually. Steffon has accepted the arrangement and is prepared for it to go under way as soon as possible. It is however the wish of Lord Bettley that he stays in Casterly Rock for the present, so the matter must be delayed."
"My other reason for coming was to give you this list of on going cases that my- I mean to say: your office is dealing with currently," he said, handing a parchment to Prince Trystane.

Prince Trystane almost choked on a piece of meat, when he read the parchment.
"You mean to say that I am the Master of Laws now? Why? The King knows almost nothing about me, I have never even met the man."

Maekar seemed surprised that he hadn't heard the announcement yet. "You are a prince of Dorne, and more importantly, the son of Lord Trant, I am sure the king feels this is more than enough qualification for the position.

"I am sure that the King has his reasons for giving me this, and even if I am honored, there is no way that I can accept a position like this."

"Why is that?" he asked.

"First of all, my father sat in that position and is one of the reasons why him and I have never been that close, secondly I have done nothing to deserve it. My father had already served Westeros for a long time, so being granted a position on the small council was something earned. I have done nothing of importance, I have lived a pretty sheltered life in Dorne and the biggest thing I have done is kill a group of small-time bandits outside of Sunspear. There are other men that have done greater things, like you by destroying that threat from the clans in the Vale."

"I had done nothing of merit when I was given the position, and gained it merely because I am the king's relation. Regardless, you will find Daemon has a way of getting what he wants."

"That may be true, Prince Maekar, but that doesn't change how I feel about the whole thing. I can't accept, and I will tell the King this when I meet with him."

"As you say, but he will undoubtedly employ both the stick and the carrot to make you accept it, so be prepared for both. Whether you accept or not however will have little affect on me, the position is no longer mine and I do not seek to regain it. I plan to return home, I have been away for too long."
